U.s. To Host 2016 Copa America

Makes me wonder if they really should of done doubleheaders like they do in the gold cup.
Those double headers are awesome! I went to one in Phoenix this past summer and watched Cuba get destroyed by T&T and I saw Mexico frustratingly play out a 0-0 draw with Guatemala. That was a very frustrating game to watch as a fan of "El Tri" because los Guatemaltecos sat all 11 players in their own half and defended stoutly. I got tickets in the 3rd row for 60 dollars!

The prices for this Copa America tournament are ridiculous! 60 dollars would get me at the fromt of the second deck in Phoenix. As much as I love "El TRI," I don't want to spend 200+ dollars to go to a group stage match. Especially when I'd only be watching them play Uruguay who may or may not field a decent team.

Supposedly we are getting emails today if we purchased packs and were drawn for the final.
Haven't got anything yet.

i do wonder how "random" this draw really is....and its probably a very small amount of tickets in the nosebleeds. since the rest probably go to sponsors and other execs etc.

Word is they haven't sold a lot of packs. I don't think people really wanted to buy tickets for games they had no interest in attending. It was supposed to be all tickets go to those who purchased packs but now they changed it and there's a window for us and then a window for general public. Meaning they didn't have enough people who bought packs to buyout the entire arena exclusively. I'm sure more than 80k packs were sold across the board but they probably don't expect a sell out from just us.

apparently the emails already went out....but it seems alot of people that have the password are getting error messages when they try to purchase.
That really sucks. Wish they would of sent one out regardless of whether or not you got it

I lucked out and got it. Email came last night at 12:35 am.

The tickets are obscenely expensive and it's an 8pm start on a Sunday.

Even the NFL doesn't play the Super Bowl at 8pm on a worknight.

Idiotic.

Unfortunately I didn't get one. What happens if they don't sell all the tickets?

EDIT :

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Tickets for the Final will be on sale to the PUBLIC on APRIL 11, 1pm ET at http://CA2016.com

They really screwed up the ticketing for this tournament. I wouldn't have bought the venue pass if they were going to sell tickets individually to the Final.

Obviously the lottery winners didn't buy that many seats for the final.

I think the organisers didnt expect that tickets would sell as slowly as they are. I do think prices are a bit too high and i still think double headers would have been a better idea.

There are just too many venues involved; with the number they have lined up, the chances of getting a bad set of games was high, and as we witnessed, Met Life Stadium got the stinker. Fewer stadium => more games at each stadium => less possibility of having a bad slate of games => more tickets/venue passes would be sold. And fans will travel to see their favorite teams, so the organizers should not have worried about spreading the footprint around the country.

But clearly they did worry about it and look at the results: Overpriced tickets to see a few less than spectacular games at huge venues. Oh well
