U.s. To Host 2016 Copa America

Why shouldn't one expect to break even on Ecua v. Haiti
Got it. Because I think most people bought the venue pass for (1) the lottery chance to buy a ticket to the final, and (2) the second venue game, which has always had a chance of being Brazil v US, or at least one of the above. Nobody really wanted the first game, for whom the matchup wasn't even announced when tickets went on sale and many people bought the passes. So there will be a lot of people looking to sell. Given that, I also don't think Haiti and Ecuador is enough of a draw to absorb all the people who will be trying to sell. Both countries have populations here, but outside of them, and super soccer enthusiasts who are willing to watch anyone, I just doubt the game will have that much interest. Of course I could be wrong. That would be great; I would love to sell my tickets.

People seem to be getting a decent price for this game on Stubhub. It remains to be seen what the face value of the games will be when they go on individual sale. Will have a big impact on the Stubhub sales.

And once we have tickets in hand I expect the market to be flooded.

I mean I know a lot of Ecuadorians. but I guess it depends how much the single match tickets are going to be sold for.

I was excited for the first game until the draw. Between Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, and Uruguay, Ecuador was pretty much the only team I had no interest in. Even the other pot of Costa Rica, Haiti, Jamaica, and Panama held the chance of seeing Mata play with the CR national team which would have been awesome. I agree that the tickets can't be worth much, we literally drew the least impressive teams out of both pots.

ill say it again....that disrespect to the number one in SA WCQ qualifying right now

You can call it disrespectful all you want but I doubt I'm in the minority in wishing for a chance to see some world class superstars such as Suarez/Cavani, Vidal/Sanchez, or James Rodriguez/Cuadrado instead of a team filled with a bunch of domestic Ecuadorian league players and a 30 year old Man U bench warmer. I would be perfectly happy with Equador vs another decent team regardless of star power if it was going to be a decent game and we could watch some high quality soccer. If we have to watch a SA team destroy a team from a 3rd world country that should be focusing on feeding it's people as opposed to fielding a soccer team, it would have been nice to see a few big name players.

1. its not a guarantee that any of the stars are coming, until rosters are confirmed its anyones guess. and if you REALLY want to see them then travel to what ever US city they will be at. its the luck of the draw in any tournament.

2. I guess enner valencia doing great at west ham in their own great season means nothing to anyone here. so no its not only one "bench player" from Man U thats plays there.

3. on the bold part.... how ignorant....lots of countries that have world class players are from nations that should focus " on feeding their people rather than having a soccer team" and also they sure looked like a "pushover" when they were barely beaten by the US in the gold cup. Plus i do believe they may bring more french based players....it may or may not work but i dont think this ends 6-0.

still, i got the cheapest tickets so getting a "official game" for about $65 is fine...friendlies are more expensive than that.

What is ignorant about saying that a country where people are starving to death probably shouldn't be spending any money on a soccer team?

this "houlier than thou" sentiment that comes from it and not even a necessary jab to a country. feels like it goes to the lines of "first world" countries are the only ones that should have sporting teams. if we go by that metric then 3/4 of FIFA nations should not have a team.

if you are really pissed you bought a venue pass thats on you for buying before you knew what teams were going to play. if you dont have a venue pass then buy your plane tickets to what ever city you want to see who you want.

Honestly not pissed at all. I am planning to go to both games and I am sure I will enjoy them both. Apologies if I was bit too harsh on Haiti. I was only lamenting what could have been had the draw played out differently. I have no problem with the venue pass, I have never been in the crowd on this thread that complained about it, I knew exactly what I was getting myself into.

no need to apologize im not haitian or anything...heck i could do better at donating and stuff...just never liked that sentiment of " oh fuck this game, they suck, i wasted money" when you knew the risk.....i mean come on....its AN OFFICIAL tournament....lets freaking enjoy it because we dont know when well get another one of this "importance"

im probably in the minority thinking that

EDIT: heck even if we got a world cup and got an Algeria vs south korea or something in these parts..ill freaking go cuz its the world cup

Id agree with that. I bought the tickets to get into the lottery for final and the likelihood of a usa v brazil qtr final game.

I'm planning to watch the USA v Paraguay game in philly the day before the haiti v equador game, so i always knew that i wouldn't be watching that game anyway.

A few of my friends' plans changed and they will not be able to attend Uruguay/Venezuela and Chile/Panama in Philly. Their tickets will be going up on StubHub but if anyone here is interested, let me know. Face value (or probably even less).

Haití is a better team than you think. They've done well in recent Gold Cups.

They'll give Ecuador a good game. I can see it being 2-1 Ecuador.

I'll be there.

Plenty of seats for each game still. I wonder if they out priced themselves with this tournament or people will wait till the tournament to get seats.

Im sure discounted tix will be found soon enough.
