USA vs. France, Friday 6/28, 3pm, FOX (Quarterfinals)

I don't think geometry alone can describe what's natural in the absence of data about how humans move in those specific circumstances
You’re fixated on the singular term of “natural” while ignoring that those other “human move(ments) in specific circumstances” also make the player bigger which is an automatic disqualifier to not be whistled.

Personally I just wish the phrase "unnaturally bigger" weren't in the language of the Law as written. To me, the Handball Rule is fundamentally ("spiritually") about not playing the ball with your hand/arm, as this was the definitional difference which first separated proto-soccer from other proto-footballs which allowed carrying. A ball which happens to contact a hand/arm, with said contact not advantaging the player who the ball has touched, does not fall within the spirit of the law, to me.

Said this after spurs Liverpool and stand by it penalty should only be given for deliberate blocking of a shot with hand.

That is - in fact - the rule. There is a requirement that it be deliberate. However, when determining intent, making yourself "big" by having your hands away from your body to make it easier for the ball to hit the hand counts too.

There is a lot of talk about hands being in an "unnatural position", but that doesn't really matter at all. What matters is if a player's hands are away from his/her body in a way that allows the player to more easily block a ball traveling nearby. It is expected that players will pull their hands into their body to avoid contact, even if that position isn't natural.

I understand what your saying but I mean like it should only be called if your arm is in deliberate motion to block a shot or pass . As much as I love the game it's one of the only things I really don't like. How easily penalties can be given when scoring from open play can be so difficult. Any PK given can potentially be a game changer and they should be more precious to come by. I certainly don't like seeing PK's given for fouls in the box that aren't legitimate scoring chances either. If you've got one foot in the box and aren't in the act of shooting and it likely wasn't going to result in a goal I don't think a PK where you more often than not do get a goal is a proportionate punishment.
