USMNT Talk

Howard deserves it. Honestly, it could be his last game with the USMNT.

Excited to see Wood back out there again along with Bedoya. If Brooks is healthy I hope he gets the start. It'll be tough, but I would love to see the team go out on a high note with a statement win. Not sure if Jurgen will still be coach after this, but a win here would certainly help his cause.

Not about being sacked. There are rumors an EPL team might take him. I think I saw Sunderland as the potential landing spot.

He deserves to coach through Russia but a part of me is hoping for a change... Unless that change is Kreis.

I saw South Hampton rounders rumors. But I'm one who hopes he stays. Some of his starting choices and 18 selections absolutely baffle me. And I'll always question how things would have been different if Landon goes to Brazil. But the USMNT is much better from a skill and talent stanpoint now, then from when he took over. How much of that is attributed to Jurgen, and how much is it just the sport taking off in America? I'm not sure anyone can answer that. But I want to see him take the program to Russia, finish the cycle and see how far we've come before replacing him with a new manager.

I am with you. Part of me wants Klinsman to stay for another term. When he left Donovan out , I felt it was because of internal disciplinary reasons. (D. had a thing against Germany football discipline and in small way he probably was undermining K's authority. That it sometimes became a contest of wills. K would let it be to some degree because of Donovan talent and popularity as the best USA player but it came to a point that D kept having tantrums and K said enough and he did not wanted another France 98' debacle.

Despite all the turmoil caused by him leaving Donovan out, I presently still felt it was and its for the best. too bad it came at the end of D's career. He would had benefited learning that talent is not enough: some humility and as we say in Spanish that, El Diablo sabe mas por viejo que por diablo"
"The Devil knows more because of his age (experience) not because he is devilish

I am observing ( lol on TV) a well disciplined , well rounded team that believes in themselves. I just saw them when the national anthem was playing the concentration on their faces.
Not much flair and talent on the field but the team is holding its own against the Big Boys.
For the near future, would like a South American coach, the problem may be language barrier. Klinsman has given them the discipline and belief in themselves, now the boys need the flair and guile of the South Americans. and the only way to get that is by going to all tournaments that they get invited.

Learn from the Mexican federation since the 1990's they have accepted and participated in ALL Copa's A. Arena and Bradley rejected invites to play in past Copa's America.

Klinsman win or loose this game , you have given credibility to USA Soccer

Much better performance from the USA tonight.

But what does Klinnsman see in Zardes ? Guy should be nowhere near the MNT.

I agree Zardes lacks a lot of skill and should not be first choice until he proves himself.

Best players were jones and Dempsey which is scary for our future.

The ref sucked but that is expected when we are the only non-Latin team.

What in the holy hell was Orozco doing, getting himself sent off for a more blatant version of the exact same thing that Jones was sent off for two matches back? Right in front of the ref! If I were Klinsmann I'd think very carefully about calling a guy up again who obviously has no self control. That was just nuts.

The other guy did slightly headbutt him. Very slight. But the other guy knew what he was doing and Orozco took the bait.

If you are looking for guys who might lead us in the next WC cycle (2-6 years away), it's a really interesting list. Sticking with people 28 or younger...

Zardes (24) or Wood (23) - Altidore (26) or Johannsson (25)
Johnson (28) - Bradley (28) - Nagbe (26) - Pulisic (17)
??? - Brooks (23) - Miazga (20) - Yedlin (22)
Horvath (21) or Cropper (23) or Hamid (25)

That leaves left back, for which we have Ream (28), Garza (24), Lichaj (27) and Vincent (22), none of whom were on the team this past month.

Some interesting guys on the bench.

F: Morris (21), Kiesewetter (23)
M: Hyndman (20), Zelalem (19), Green (21), Mix (26), Kitchen (24)
D: Birnbaum (25), Gonzalez (27)

God I hope the Copa proved we are 100 times better without altidore.
