USMNT Talk

Disagree. Until he does it against a country that doesn't play soccer in the national cricket stadium with the result already sealed, it's just mop duty/kicking a team that's already folded. Littlefinger historically shows his true colors when he lines up against national teams that are physical, organized, and swarm the ball - pretty much all the teams we'll see next round.
Yeah but you can compare his performance to our other midfielders and he did better than Bedoya and Beckerman.

This debate is also meaningless because we all know we will be starting a JJJ and Bradley midfield in 2018 ;)

I'd be fine with JJ starting if he weren't old as hell. I am just not sure MB90 should be.

So Bradley is back, Yedlin is out for Yellow Card suspension tomorrow. Besler is on new dad duty.

So I guess we will have to see how the backline looks. Who starts at RB? We could see FabJo, Orozco, or Cameron. FabJo could also slot back into LB as well. Maybe something like FabJo-Birnbaum-Gonzalez-Cameron? If FabJo slots back down to fullback, we will have to see who replace him on the wing. I think that Bradley replaces Beckerman and maybe we have Littlefinger in the middle with Bedoya pushed out wide.

Let me preface this by saying I would treat this game as an experiment to play creatively and really boss the game.

In that spirit, what I would do, although Klinsy won't, is start Cameron at DM to combat their athleticism and open up a space to play some of the guys he called in (Gonzo, Birnbaum). I'd slot FJ to RB, Acosta stays at LB.

Other mids ahead of Cam would be Bedoya and Klejstan, with a front 3 of Pulisic, Wood, Rubin.

That's where my head would be, anyway, but I see about 5 combos I would like to see. Sadly, we'll probably get Beckerman, Zusi and Wondo in some format. Ugh.

I would really like to see Cameron at DM but that wont happen with Bradley still alive and breathing.

I would love Cameron and CDM - have been wanting it for a while. I also love Bradley and certainly think they could play together well. Still, this might not be the game with Brooks, Besler and Yedlin out in the back line.

Hopefully, Klinsmann will be true to his word and give the younger guys an opportunity tonight.

. . . . . . . .Altidore - Wood
Pulisic - Bradley - Nagbe - Bedoya
Acosta - Birnbaum - Cameron - FabJo

Keep Morris, Rubin, Stanko, and Arriola ready as reserves. Maybe even start Morris for Bedoya and go with a 4-3-3.

1-0 USA thanks to a poor clearance from T&T in the box after a good run of play from the Americans. The clearance deflected off Kljestan and he pokes the ball in for a goal.

I'm sorry but I can't root for that energy drink metal can fucker.

Michael Bradley. Still shit.

I mean, good thing he works hard to get the ball back after he gives it away.

yeah, that was very much a "look what I found" type play.... like a Christmas present that came early and is addressed to the guy down the street.

Man. Jozy was awesome tonight. Pulisic continues to fuel the hype train. Morris and Arriola were both great off the bench as well.

1st game of the Hex: USA vs. Mexico in Columbus

They get a lot of matches. The last time they played in the Tri-State area was a friendly vs. Costa Rica like three years ago at RBA in New Jersey.
WELL BOYS I GOT MY FLIGHT. COLUMBUS HERE I COME (AGAIN)

The last time I remember a game there was the first time I went to RBA. 2014 vs Turkey in a World Cup sendoff match.

It sucks that RBA gets no love from USMNT. I get why they want to play Mex in Columbus, but RBA would have been perfect for a game like tonight's. Why are we playing in a 67k seat stadium against a team like T&T on Tuesday night? There were only 19k people there.

The first rule of US Soccer should be to host games where there's an MLS club. That's a minimum of 15,000 people already. This game would have been better in Orlando if we're sticking with Florida. But there was the FSU-Ole Miss game in Camping World Stadium (lol) yesterday.

Watch out MSN... Pulisic----Morris----Arriola... AMP. And they were amped last night. Not sure if Arriola really came in at right wing or more of right mid, but he had some screamers on frame from that side. Like TMac distance but with double the pace. The way those 3 and Jozy combined towards the end of the game was so refreshing. First full 90 for Pulisic, and he was absolutely key to our attack. Credit to Kljestan, but I can't help but think Pulisic is the real reason Luigi's had 2 good games. The future is bright.

Arranging my plans later today too! Not sure if I am getting tickets thru AO or on my own.... Although in mid November it might not be a bad idea to be jumping around all match with AO!!!
