Who's down with The Get Down?

I think the show's biggest problem is Jaden Smith IMO. It was evident he wasn't available for much of filming part 2, and his character is annoying and a side plot at best. Would have been better to recast someone that could have been there full time or just eliminate that aspect of the plot entirely.

I haven't seen the show, but I'm going to assume that you could've just stopped after "the biggest problem is Jaden Smith". I've seen him in a handful of things and nothing I've seen so far at all will convince me that he actually has the talent to be a serious actor at all. His dad is just so incredibly hell-bent on giving him the star-studded, multi-million dollar career that he himself enjoyed that he is pretty much forcing Jaden into any production he can get him into.

I like his character, actually. Smith's performance doesn't stand out either way, imo.

Damn it. Now I want to watch just to judge for myself. Like arguing over Pirlo and formations isn't enough.
