I think johnson makes the most sense for reasons everyone's already mentioned. His not being an outfield player isn't a big deal. It's not like players in general adhere to the "only the captain should discuss things with the ref" unwritten rule. Also, if there is a stoppage in play, and there's a discussion to be had, I'm sure johnson can find the energy to jog over to the ref to have a chat.

Just an FYI on the whole taty siutaion, the copa libertadores rosters ( for the group stage) have to be finalized by this weekend. so i assume if taty is to leave it has to be announced by friday because im assuming they want to use him in that tournament. Palmeiras was also going after atuesta from LAFC

he played CB IIRC against chicago. but then i thought he came in as a DM in the last few minutes against Hartford. who knows about the other games though.

no, we drafted parker in 2020 and is a GK (never signed). Ben di Rosa is this years 2nd rounder and yet to be signed.
so i dont know how true this is or if this is realiable. It seems Palmeiras up their offer to $4M for 70% of Taty rights but apparently CFG is offering Taty a new contract now as well. I reaaaalllllyy doubt taty used palmeiras as leverage to get bigger contract from CFG. he can still leave obviously so we wait and see.
everyone in the brazilian and palmeiras twitter accounts are saying this since yesterday, so this dude is late. What seems to be new is the amount palmeiras was offering ($4M for 70% of his rights). like i mentioned earlier, palmeiras needs to register players for the libertadores ( which i assume is a big selling point to taty) by monday i read, so they would want this to be settled before then.
If Lee and Deila think this team can tread water for long enough before the summer transfer window to sign more attackers, they don't know what they're doing.

If they are willing to let Taty go, it must be a very good deal and they must need the money for some bigger summer signings.
They also might be banking on Thiago being the striker savior until Heber returns.
If Taty wants to go then I’m okay. I’d rather he not though...yeah, the diving is frustrating but I think the dude is strong, can blast the damn ball and has more pace than anyone else we have up front... does this team really benefit by selling him for $4million or is that just CFG bucks?
