Alex was absolutely an in your face leader. He had a great relationship with Patrick and Dome. He has a special friendship with Claudio.
I see we’re in the phase of our clubs existence where we’re throwing former players under the bus to distract from what’s really going on here. Very disappointed in Ian but hey, he’s not going to piss off bjs YES Network overlords now that he has a big contract with them.

I assume they have to be pretty bad to get loaned to us. First step would be Granada. But it worked for Herrera so maybe we might get more in the future.

i guess they found the money? literally last week the rumors going around that they had no money for fees.
then again, thats how it is with some clubs in latin america. they go back and forth.
EDIT: it doesnt mean hes gone. If anything instead of $2.5M maybe they offered the $4M nycfc wanted but there is also the issue the actual payment of the money. depending on the team sometimes there are issues, like oh hey ill pay $1M now and the rest within the next 3 years, which is normal for some teams. however, if they are in financial trouble then come next year they are delayed in payments and then nycfc is out of the money and the player.
EDIT2: seems like there is already an agreement between palmeiras and taty however they teams have to agree on payment. It seems like its 3.5M for 60/70% of rights is what is floating around.

While not surprising, he deserves to be captain, I'm just not a fan of keepers getting the armband. I think it should be a field player to be able to argue with refs and whatnot.
Yeah, I think of all the players, from a true leadership perspective, Sean Johnson would have been my captain pick.
That said, I likely would have gone with an outfield player for the reasons you point out.
Either way, a very solid decision for a very deserving guy.
Maxi is aloof so can’t be him. Chanot is also aloof. Tinnerholm would be the guy I probably would give it to but I don’t know the locker room that well anymore.
Plus Sean is a legit US National teamer. Curious who will wear the arm band while he’s with the USMNT for Gold Cup.
hes friendly with the spanish speaking teammates (plus heber) inviting them to his place for cookouts etc. I think language barrier is more the issue. Plus he has said he really doesnt like learning english. I think Chanot is not interested in being a captain.
I feel like maybe I'm in the minority on this one, but I don't see Tinnerholm as a captain kinda guy. Yeah, he can be a bit firey and get the guys pumped up, and still be a leader on the field. But I also see instances of him being an unnecessary dick to opponents and being a bit hot-headed. Things I don't think are great captain qualities (the hot-headed thing isn't that big of a deal, and Ring had his moments with that too).
