Very useful.

And to add, PKs should be removed from the equation (not sure if you did) because while they’re not guaranteed, they are converted at sufficiently high enough levels to skew numbers quantifying shooting effectiveness.
Good point. Forgot about PKs. Also added Taty and Mitri for the hell of it.

I'm not sure if this came up yet but BC Place is on astroturf and I can't remember the last time we played well on plastic. I hate to say it, but I feel us dropping points here. I feel it in my plums.

Bc place is a tough place to play because of this. We aren't very good on turf and so much better on grass. I think we'll still grab 3 points but it'll be a close one. Vancouver getting back from a long flight late with only a day to rest and basically no prep time works in our favor as well.

I watched the last hour of the Montreal game last night and the Whitecaps have a ton to work on with no time to get ready. Their defensive spacing and rotations were horrendous. They did fairly well because Montreal plays so much slower than we do, but I can't see Teibert, Erice and the center backs being able to handle the movement of our front line with Maxi and Mitri behind them in a 4-4-2. Their best bet is to try to pack 10 behind the ball and kick it long to Reyna, but that is a very ugly style in front of the home fans. We are a bad matchup for the Whitecaps on short rest. Hopefully we can get a couple early goals and take our foot off the gas for the last hour or so and get some good rotations from bench players who haven't gotten a lot of minutes.

they are definitely gonna park the bus, home fans be damned. they don't have the prep time to really do anything different. their best bet is to park the bus and hope to try and catch us on the counter. Adnan on their left and In Boem will be their primary relief to try to counter. Adnan is frequently out of position because he loves getting up into the attack but does not get back quickly enough. So even on a counter, if we can quickly win the ball back, they'll be wide open.

hopefully we can get up 3-4 goals in 60 mins and be able to rest maxi and tinnerholm.. have to remember that we are without Mata and Ring this game too. I fully expect Ofori or Rocha to fill in for Ring, though I wish it was Haak.

This all sounds great. I hope you're right, because Maxi could barely trap the ball against Cincy.

We won 4-1, but IIRC it flattered us. I haven't seen Vancouver though, so maybe they are really that bad.

Harder to do that without Matarrita, since that formation means Dome wants wingbacks. Sweat really isn't good in the wingback role. I suppose we could try it, but we'll be asking a lot of Tinnerholm.
Not good defensively. Not going going forward.

At least he’s consistent.

Wow, 2015 NYCFC really was that bad. Yikes.
Wait a second. If 2015 NYCFC had the 10th worst expected GD in the last 8 years, does that mean we have to give Josh Saunders credit for that season not being way worse than it was in terms of actual wins and losses?

Sweat is a much better outside back than Jake Nerwinski.

Never mention that keeper's name again *shudders*

Looks like Ofori has reinjured himself. he went from being questionable to being OUT completely.

Other than that, we have the usual suspects out with mata/ring suspended.

If ofori is out, then it's likely Rocha will fill in for Ring although I would love to see Haak. We need the 3 points before we have to play the Revs and TFC with a half team full of reserves. I'll be happy if we can come out of these next 3 games with 5 or 6 points.

Injury Report
James Sands (Collarbone) - OUT
Ebenezer Ofori (Knee) - OUT
Joe Scally (Hip) - OUT
Ismael Tajouri-Shradi - OUT
Alex Ring - SUSPENDED
Ronald Matarrita - SUSPENDED
