Was lucky enough to get the new Xbox Series X on launch - it's an absolute beast

I couldn't get either, but leaning towards the PS5 when I have the chance. I want to be able to play GT7 & spidey, among other exclusives.

yeah that's why it's always tough to decide - dang exclusives! it's so bad for the industry - kinda wish PS5 had their all-digital console at the $300 price point like Xbox - $400 seems steep, especially after dropping $500 on a new Xbox, but the Game Pass is certainly making it worth it

After more than a year with Xbox Game Pass, I gotta say it's the best thing to happen to videogames in a long, long time - it's flat out incredible and now with their acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, it's gonna be bonkers

Agreed. I’ve been a Sony fanboy since PS One and having owned an Xbox for the last month it’s amazing being able to download a ton of $70 games and try them out. Still love my PlayStation.

without a doubt - I've played games I never would have tried (like Doom Eternal) - $60-$70 is quite the gamble if you don't know what you're getting - I've even bought games I payed on Game Pass because I wanted to own them after they left the service

So while you have gamepass you only have specific games? Or how does that work? I've been hesitant to think about it because I hate teh concept of streaming games / music in general and like to physically own the games/music.

the main subscription of Game Pass involves downloading any game they offer to your console's storage and you play it from there (meaning, it's not streamed) - however, if it leaves Game Pass you can't play the game even though you still have it downloaded - the up side is that your progress/save file is stored on the cloud - so if you buy the game or it goes back on Game Pass later, you can pick up where you left off - so it's all digital - the only way you can physically own a game is to buy the disc

they do have a cloud/streaming subscription where you can play on your phone, tablet, etc., but it's in beta and can be touch and go depending on your wifi, the game, etc.

edit: here's the current library: Xbox Game Pass Games Library | Xbox

I got the Xbox to play halo and gears. Those are $130+ and game pass is $40 I think for 3 months. It pays for itself if a game you want is on there. Also got into forza because of it. My friends purchased back for blood on PlayStation and it’s free on game pass. Saved $50 and got to play with them.

Thanks for the info guys! I might do it.
I noticed football manager is on gamepass too and might be a good idea for the future. I browsed the catalog and there ARE a few games I'm interested in playing, so that's cool.

sure thing! yeah man, give it a go - worse comes to worse if you don't feel like it's worth it for you, just cancel the subscription
