2024 Schedule Thread

Damnit. I had blacked that awful result, long ass rain delay and horrendous subway ride home out of my pea brain.
I remember turning around to walk out when I saw Maxi lining up to take the penalty.

This was before the little genius became clutch to bring us the first star.

Same thing again this year. Root against the Yankees and/or Mets.

As of now Wednesday, October 2 (7:30 pm) and Sunday, October 6 (4:00 pm) in Red Bull Arena.

I understand why they had to announce this now, but there's still better than a 50-50 chance these games will be at Citi Field.

I see the wildcard games are oct 1/2/3, so if mets make wildcard it's possible we'd not have the oct 2 game but might have the oct 6 game at citi field.
If mets don't make the playoffs, what's the earliest we're likely to know that? could go all the way to sept 29?

I appreciate that the team has given the option to opt out of the New Jersey games, but it is ridiculous that they are only allowing credit to be applied to 2024 regular season games that are not Miami.

There are five homes games remaining - Chicago this weekend (short notice), Philadelphia midweek, Miami (blacked out), and the two Jersey games in questions. If one opts out today, the only games for which credit can be used are this Saturday and a Wednesday Philadelphia game. This is extremely limiting and poorly considered.

I plan to contact my ticket representative to complain (and hope others do also). The opt out option is nearly useless, and they should either allow for credit to be used for the post season or rolled over to next year (I can accept that Miami is an exception).

100%

Is this correct that the only special accommodation they are making for the RBA games is your opt outs don't count against the season cap for trade-ins?

NVM - I found the answer in the email.

I’m so furious how it’s being rolled out. This is the email I sent to the club.

I’m sure you’re getting an influx of emails about the change in venue for the final two home games. I know this is not your fault, but I need to express my frustration with the club on this decision so that it can be passed on to the powers that be.

I want to start off saying I understand that the change in venue is not up to the club and is something that was forewarned. The issue is how the whole situation is playing out. With two days of notice I now need to reuse my funds for this Saturdays game. That’s short notice in case it wasn’t obvious. Or I can reuse my funds for a Wednesday night game during the school year. Do I need to point out the obvious flaw in this logic as well?

Where things are truly a slap in the face to the fan base is not being allowed to use our funds for the Inter Miami match or playoff games. Why? So our club or our oil tycoon of an owner can make a few thousand dollars extra? Are those minuscule returns really worth losing the goodwill of a fan base?

If this is how the club treats their fans while struggling to fill baseball stadiums I truly worry how we will be treated when the new stadium opens and there is a waiting list for season tickets. Are we just going to be at your disposal?

This club, front office and management could take some advice from Bayern Munich Club President Uli Honess. In regards to their season ticket prices he stated “We could charge more than £104. Let’s say we charge £300. We’d get £2 million more income, but what is £2 million to us?… In a transfer discussion you argue about that sum for five minutes. But the difference between £104 and £300 is huge for the fan. We do not think the fans are like cows who you milk…”

It may just be $80-100 for my account or slightly more/less for others, but it is our hard earned money and I am tired of feeling used by this team. I am not a cow to be milked dry.

NYCFC has done many things right in the community and with certain membership benefits, but my passion for this club is truly beginning to waver because of poor decisions made from the top. I know I’m just one fan out of thousands, but I’m finding it harder and harder to spend my money or enjoy this club. I don’t think this team has the foundation with its fans that it thinks it does. I hope a better resolution can be reached for the benefit of all ticket holders.

Edit: this is only to my ticket rep. Please feel free to provide me with any other emails within the club that might actually make a difference.

That's a very well put together email on this.

Yes, it could go all the way to September 29. They are pretty close to the playoff line, so their elimination probably won't be fully known until sometime that week, if they indeed do get eliminated.

I don't remember the situation being this poor last year. Did they let us opt out earlier? Was it just that the Miami game was not at the very end so there were more options to trade into?

Last year the only game like this was Decision Day, and they announced Citi Field as the venue by the end of September.

Can someone check for me whether you can trade in the Miami game? I know selling is potentially more lucrative, but I'm considering just trading in at this point. I will be out of town so definitely not going. I removed the listing a few hours ago and there still is no option to trade in like there is for Chicago or Philadelphia. I'm not sure if it takes a day maybe or if you just cannot trade in that game (which would make no sense, but nonetheless).
