Sydney opens the score. David hasn't gotten many touches after 10 ish mins. But it's due to Sydney dominating.

I'm so happy that Villa gets to be able to stay sharp in such a "highly skilled and technical league" haha ;) It's hard to believe all these bloopers were from a single season! I'm just hoping Villa doesn't get injured now while he is over there lol
 
You have to remember that Australia is another country which does not see football as its biggest sport, and yet it's another country where the national league imposes strict restrictions on the number of foreign players in the league. The only difference between Australia and the US really is that Australia only got its first national league in 1977, and it has a population which is 10 times smaller than the US to recruit its players from.

Aside from the various blunders, the A-League does have some quality players playing quality football. Let's not forget it's also the league which brings you stuff like this:

 
I take that back. When they announced the lineups he was on the right. But in watching the game, it looks like he's playing down the left.

Also, I'd just like to thank my body for waking me up at 6:30 so I could catch the end of the match. I actually did not want to wake up for this match as it started at 5am. So thanks. Ugh.
 
That is a great near post goal from a not so good angle on the net. Villa's real talent is making that goal look easier than what it actually is
