Good to target CDM, meh on the actual player. A bit old, a bit unknown, and a bit low ceiling.

We don't need depth there if Bravo stays and Lopez is still around...We need a legit starter. Maybe this is a cheaper get than Bravo.

There's a number of guys we could really use from Celtic. Leigh Griffiths is a CF who could be like a Wondo in MLS. They have a LB who was rumored to be heading to San Jose. They have a guy in James Forrest who could crush MLS with his speed

Possibility for a summer transfer. His loan agreement with Celtic specifically prohibits an early recall though.

He really isn't even starting quality for the bench.

If that starting DM became injured, I have zero confidence that we could play an extended length of games with Lopez as DM and expect maximum points from the majority of them. More likely I'd expect to take one of three points on average with him. We may break even (at best) with Bravo.

I'm "ok" with Bravo being a back up. Lopez is nothing more then a #3. This is all predicated that we hopefully get a real DM. We just can't go into the year with a bunch of alright mids for the sake of depth.

The official start is Monday January 23rd. Our only two annouced dates so far are 2/8 @ C.S. Emelec and 2/18 vs Houston in Tucson. Announced preseason matches and friendlies are showing up on the schedules on individual team websites, but not on the league site.

People are tough on Chanot, maybe I'm overly optimistic but I still think he has the skills to be one of the best CBs in MLS.

Not overly optimistic. I like Chanot a lot. Even bought his signed photo in a Cityzens auction. Just want a CDM who's even better.
