There is currently a definite gap there and I know the SPL is not great overall but there are still definitely players at Rangers that would help our team and I think it's silly to argue otherwise.

I was just teasing. You are right that Rangers, despite their average start, have some players who could play here.

First two thirds of this clip were all right footed goals, and then near the end there were a few rockets with his left.

Looks like someone to compete with or oust McNamara from the LW position.

EDIT: Plus, he's a goal scorer not a playmaker (12 goals, 1 assist last year).

Competition will make T Mac better

It would be interesting to know what would have triggered the inclusion of the transfer (and the details) on transfermarkt before a "formal" post Jan 1 announcement. It doesn't look like transfermarkt information is sourced by the public (you need to submit a form for corrections, etc.), so the staff must compile information from news reports even prior to formal team announcements, which means we may be missing a definitive article or story beyond the tweet/reference included above. Can someone who can read Spanish take a deeper dive on the WWW?

We have 9 international spots (1 acquired via a trade with DC) good through December 2017. This signing would cap our international players unless we trade another international spot.

Landon Donovan has been offered a deal from RSL and an Eastern Conference team.

per Julie Stewart Binks on twitter. Not embedding from mobile ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know people are caught up on age, but for the right price, Donovan can still play. Not for DP dollars though.

We don't need another reason for people to hate NYCFC. Oh, you're the team that signed Landon Donovan.

I would certainly take him at the right price. I thought he played reasonably well for LA toward the end, and he would presumably play even better with a full regimen of training - although his ability to go a full season has to be a question.

I wonder if this is a case of him wanting to play, LAG not wanting to pay him DP dollars and Landon looking elsewhere. Probably important to consider that Bruce Arena is no longer his manager.
