2017 Offseason Thread

Watching Sevilla play now vs. Juventus. Taped it from the other day.

I'm confident, after watching this squad play, PV's visit to Sevilla was to learn from Jorge Sampaoli. Sevilla are playing a 3-3-4 right now. Defensively, they turn into a 4-4-2. It's total football with a high press. Very entertaining. It also looks exhausting to play. But it makes total sense if PV wants to morph into a 3-4-3 or 3-3-4 next year.

not with the guys we have...little chance. in that case all 3 CBs need to be upgraded....

Has anyone else noticed that neither of the two moves we made this offseason have been leaked prior to completion?

That is interesting. I remember Pirlo leaking way ahead and Iraola by several days. Of course, Jack had tons of attention and speculation ahead of the draft.

There was obviously lots of chatter about the CB (name I'm forgetting) who didn't come last winter. But how much ahead of time did we get any chatter for any of these from the past year:

• Poku
• Mullins
• Mattarita
• Brillant
• Chanot
• Lopez
• Mendoza

I do recall hearing about Matarrita before hand, and I think Brillant, but those were in last offseason, I think they've plugged the leaks since then.

Johnson only leaked after the deal was done, but couldn;t be announced for a few days IIRC

I wonder if NYCFCfan has noticed that the sources have become less talkative?
