2019 International Duty

Updated this with Heber injury, realization Sands won't be back by Wednesday, and now that Peru will play in at least the 3rd place match or Final for Copa America. (Heber and Sands may be out longer, but I figured list best case scenario and then adjust).

forgot to take screen shot, but anyone see the tweet nycfc posted about sean johnson being called up for the september friendlies? it got deleted now.

We're going to be missing a ton of players vs. New England and vs. Toronto.

Johnson called up for the USA for games on Sep 6 and 10.

Callens called up for Peru for games on Sep 5 and 10.

yikes... totally forgot about the international callups coming up. we are gonna be digging deep on that bench. luckily they are both home games... but they are potentially two very difficult games.

Neither Bradley nor Altidore were called in for the USA, so they should both be available for Toronto when they play us.

While Sean sits on the US bench for 2 matches. There are so few MLS teams playing those dates, why can’t they call up a reserve keeper from those teams?

Neither Atlanta nor FCD play on the 7th. It would be nuts for Johnson to miss the Revs game.

Can’t Sean say thanks for the honor of being chosen as a reserve keeper for a friendly, but my team is in the middle of a tight race and they need me to play?

Hell, one can argue it’s better for the the USMNT, they would get some more game tape on him, instead of just hanging around for practice sessions.

Truth is, it's very unlikely he gets capped in a meaningful game...

The US game the previous day is at Metlife -- why can't he also appear for us the next day? Are there rules about that?

And he can hop on a flight from St Louis after the Uruguay match and play the next day in NY vs TOR. No reason why not if he’s just sitting on the bench for both matches. Or just leave ‘camp’ early after the Mex match and play both for us.
