not sure you can take switching couriers as a sign of cutting costs. just like any good business, they took the better deal. it's not like they are paying teenagers to deliver us our boxes on a rental lime scooter.
the consistent decline in the "quality" of the STH boxes is a bit concerning. maybe this year's is a one off due to lack of revenue last year, but they wasted money on a spiderman figure that could have easily been a gift card to members or something more worthwhile. Not sure what other clubs deal with but it really seems like the club could easily be more creative in their STH boxes, make members happy, and not really spend a whole lot in the process.
Received mine this morning. An absolute waste of their money and time to send this out. My son already broke Spider-Man.
I would frankly prefer not receiving ANYTHING over this box. It’s almost a slap in the face? The Ford Credit might be nice but I’m sure there’s a ton of small print. I do collect the tickets and lanyards. The pins will be lost by this evening.
The nicest thing about the box is the box itself. They may as well have taken a shit and fedexed it to my house. What are they thinking.

marvel characters and figures are collectible. my plan is to keep my spiderman mint in box and hope it becomes rare and valuable in 10 years ha
edit: was reading on another site that maxi is our "spiderman" so maybe that's why they included a spiderman figure.

One of Maxi's nicknames is also "Spiderman." He flings webs after he scores, it's in honor of his kid who loves spiderman. So that's also a tie-in.
The cards were needed before the tickets were all electronic, you actually scanned the card. I think when they made the switch to all electronic some fans said that they missed the lanyard and the plastic card, so perhaps this is so you could still have that as a collectible/way to identify yourself as a season ticket holder by wearing the lanyard.
I just threw mine in a box with the prior years ones.

The plastic card is supposed to be used when you want to get your membership discount on food and items in the store.
I wish they’d just go ahead and just create an Apple Wallet pass to act as a card, even one that can be scanned as a ticket. So much easier for people who used their season card as their ticket up until now.
Let’s face it. You can never have too many lanyards.
For all those bitching about the box, it’s worth remembering that we also got one last year when they ended up not even selling a single ticket. So, while I am underwhelmed, I am also not that bothered.
But there is one thing I really didn’t like. The fucking swirly font on the top of the box. So against the minimalism of the rest of it.

It's very different from the formal fonts used. I'm trying to find what it reminds me of...like a 1970s NYC government logo/font. I can't find it on Google. Still searching.
