I'd buy it if we didn't have to have the giant sponsor on the front.

I haven’t done it yet but I have spent time wondering what would be the best way to remove the etihad from a Jersey as to not leave any of the sticky residue. I’m thinking heat and water might do the trick but I’m still nervous I’d ruin a fucking $100 kit. My favorite jersey is still the orange warmup from this year and that’s one of the main reasons why. (And because orange is my favorite color)

In the Washer with cold water and then hang them up on the back of a chair or something in my apartment to dry. Used to dry them too but the numbers started peeling on some of my older kits after 10-20 washes.

Another point of reference. My wife was ironing nametags onto my son's clothes for camp. When she did his NYCFC jersey, the iron melted the fabric and ruined it.* Something to keep in mind when handling jerseys for the kiddos.



* - It was the kit with the racing stripe (which we both love). Fortunately, this happened after the new kit had been introduced, and I was able to get him a replacement for something like $30.

If you do this in the future, try using a t-shirt in between the iron and jersey. Unfortunate, but at least you were able to find one for cheap right after!

I see videos of Kitman using a steamer to get wrinkles out of kits. Never iron soccer kits.

Put the kit inside out, wash on cold with like colors (I use normal cycle), hang to dry. Use a steamer to get any wrinkles out.

Here' a video that walks through getting the numbers/letters off. Not sure if the kit sponsor logo is any different. It starts off with a kid, but it's done with adult supervision.

The instruction I've seen over and over on washing is to wash in cool water, tumble dry but not fully and have the shirt inside out at all times during the process.

The numbers on a knock-off jersey will peel no matter what you do, so enjoy it while it lasts. And never buy a knockoff with any patch, or at least don't expect the patch to stay on for very long. You can buy fabric glue to reattach the patches, but it never quite works great.

To get the residue off of a patch or letter/number that has been removed, use GooGone or other similar products, but use sparingly.
