ASA uses per 96 because they account for added time. It mostly affects someone who enters very late and gets credit for say, 10 minutes instead of the completely fictional 1 or 2. 96 is a presumed average of regular plus added time across all games.Question about this. Not to undermine, just playing with data.
I think Keaton is the only midfielder, maybe only player outside of defenders to average 90 minutes per match through 3. Haak may also, but he played 45 as a CB against Miami and then 90 as CB vs Orlando.
Is your “per game” analysis per game or per 90?
I wonder about Shore’s, Haak’s (as a mid-fielder), Perea’s per 90 stats.
Again, this is more curiosity (and general preference for per 90 vs per game as a useful statistic) that it is any challenge to your general conclusion which sounds legit to me.
I'm not sure how to express this in shorthand without complications.
If I say per 90 I'm inaccurate, but people mostly know what I mean. But someone who knows ASA well wonders why I used 90.
If I say per 96 people are confused, or think I'm confused or ignorant or can't type.
So I say per game, and understandably get questions like yours.
