2025 Schedule Thread

I see 5 midweek so over half non Saturday home games
You're counting the Charlotte Friday game? Probably not helpful for our Sabbath observing friends, which is what Shwafta Shwafta actually meant when he wrote that he expected all Saturday games. But yes, non-Saturday by the standard definition of Saturday, which does not start Friday evening.
Is simple, no?

Yeah, I realized after I started a reply that I was framing "saturday" wrong lol. But either way, I am okay with having that fri night game, mostly bc it gives other people a chance for variety in game night as well. Some people can make a fri night but can't a sat or sun or wed.

Am I having a senior moment, or does anyone else think it's odd that our Decision Day match is vs Seattle?

it is a little odd since normally those games tend to almost always be within your conference. weird for them to have to travel all the way here for that.

Now that I think about it I reckon with 30 teams next year there's going to be that odd conference match.

I guess NYCFC and Seattle were picked to be that odd match. But I do agree it's weird that Seattle has to come cross country. You would think they would set up teams a little closer to each other. But............MLS!

Haven’t deep dived yet, but I wish the stadium spilt was flipped 10 CF and 5 YS. Happy to see no SIS.

there is a TBD for the decision day game vs seattle.. so there's still a chance. the red bulls will be in columbus.

My preference for the 30 team schedule...Play each team once (alternate home and away each year) for 29 matches and then 5 core teams you play home and away each year (suppose ours would be NE, NJ, PHI, TOR, MTL).

No more eastern conference or western conference, just take the top teams from the supporters' shield for the playoffs.
There was a similar proposal floated on Big Soccer:

I don't think it's quite there, but I like the germ of an idea.

So, we have Seven Matches in May (great title for a movie *ahem*), not to mention a pretty daunting July and August. I hope our new gaffer is named very soon. They're going to have to get sorted very quickly.

Mildly disappointed because we're not playing in Seattle as I was thinking of taking a week off and taking the train cross-country ending with a match there. Alas. Perhaps next year.

Although now that I'm looking at the schedule I was planning on being in Chicago the weekend after Labor Day and we're playing there the following weekend. Hmmmm.

a few scheduling quirks i noticed:
- We play all sat night away, except DC and Orlando which are wed nights. interesting?
- we visit LAFC, so it's basically a home game right?
- based on the fact we only play two matches in june, i assume leagues cup will be spread around those?
- CLT -> ORL -> SKC -> DAL is gonna be brutal especially in that timeframe, but i appreciate that they're all relatively close cross-country-wise.

CLT (furnace) - ORL (humid swamp) - SKC (depends) - DAL (Hell’s front porch) in July.

Yikes. Absolutely brutal.

CCL in 2022 vs santos from costa rica the home leg was in LAFC stadium
I was one of the 100 people or so who were there watching the game.

When I drove up and asked the parking attendant where to go he had no idea what I was talking about and then was like “oh you’re here to WATCH the game?” Lol.
