2025 Schedule Thread

We have 7 home games before the middle of May. But we also have 4 July/August games which should be nice weather-wise. 5pm home game in August could be pretty swampy. Very glad to see the league at least trying some different starting times, though having our home opener in early March as a 7:30 game is ridiculous.

Leagues Cup is, apparently, going to be the 18 MLS playoff teams against all 18 Liga MX teams. Sounds like 3-4 group stage games in a single table for MLS and another single table for Liga MX. Top-4 from each league advance to quarterfinals and all games on weekdays. Should be a much better system and a far better way than stopping the season for a month.

Also sounds like they're going to try to have all games be Liga MX vs MLS through at least the quarterfinals, so no more NYCFC vs FC Cincy in the group stage.

Once again our home games are frontloaded -- we have 7 home games before the middle of May.
That’s not really front loaded. There are also 7 away games in that time, and only 1 double game week. It is rather well balanced.

Yeah, I guess I look at it as "7 of 17 home games being in colder weather," but you're right -- last year we had 9 home games before the end of May, so this is definitely more balanced. I take it back.

To your point we have just 2 games total in June, which is stupid.

The June break is for the Club World Cup
Why are they bothering breaking for that. Do they really think it's going to get a lot of attention?

I was excited at first, but then yesterday I took a look at the matches in the general vicinity, and there was very little that was interesting - and the one or two matches I would consider were on a weekday at noon.

it is mainly for the gold cup, I think. kind of lame. should be every 4 years like the euros and copa america. there's no reason for it to be every 2 other than concacaf trying to squeeze some money out of a sub par competition.

Same here, especially since we're a cold weather team. It's good to see them continuing to refine the product.

(That 7:30 p.m. home opener doesn't make sense to me either, so let's call it a work in progress. ;))

In a similar vein, I hope AppleTV+ cooks up some additional content, too. They need more in the pipeline to really make it work. But that's a subject for another thread.

happened upon this. just added to my google calendar by URL. that way you don't have to log into google through their site.

schedule seems accurate and supposedly updates on its own (don't know how fast they do it though). It does not give a location, so that kinda stinks but if all you need is to know there is a game, it's an option.

The coachella games not being listed as behind closed doors give me hope we'll get some streams out of there.

How will the wildfires out there effect preseason?
Can't imagine much at all. Indio, CA is a 2+ hr drive from LA

ETA: Of course, California is constantly burning, so it is possible that there are other fires out there, and I was assuming you were referring to the Palisades fires that are the major headlines at the moment

Hopefully, we get a few decent streams, this is one of the more intriguing preseasons in a while. A lot of interesting questions including:
  1. How will Pascal line up the team?
  2. Is Jovan in shape?
  3. Did Bakrar find his finishing boots over the break?
  4. Do any of the young academy guys who have been on the roster for a couple of years now look close to ready (Cazzario, Shore, Bariera)? With the added caveat that some of them are still only 17, we may not be there yet, but it would be exciting to see them play.
  5. Does Malachi Jones look fully recovered?
  6. Does Max Murray look ready to be a backup-level player for us or is he still a bit raw and will likely play with the II squad this season?
