Before this goes out of control, we need to understand a few things. I don't expect anyone to know these answers but it will be answered if an investigation by NYCFC, CFG, outside law firm is conducted. Furthermore, this will likely not get the media attention of the NFL or NBA because it's still MLS. That being said, that doesn't mean it should be pushed under the rug. If there was any wrongdoing, it should be acknowledged.
First, this seems to have taken place between player(s) and staff. This isn't what has been reported recently in Washington NFL team of front office harassment.
1) Who was committing the harassment?
2) What type of harassment was being committed?
3) How long did the harassment last?
4) Who knew of the harassment?
5) Was the harassment reported? Were there protocols to report such harassment?
The individual in question, from social media, appears to have worked at NYCFC from the 2018 to 2019 season. The individual only began going public about the matter until after the 2019 season.
As for cleaning house, we'll see if MLS puts down any actions based on the gravity of any findings. But the head coach during that period is gone. The sporting director from that period is gone. Did Brad Sims know? He's the only person that's still in a senior position that's still around.
