American Dps For Nycfc

1) doubt LA let landon donovan go. And landon donovan isn't a fan of new york. He prefers to live in california.
2) JJ- wouldn't mind seeing him here.
3) brek shea- had one good season; not sure if he is DP quality.Id rather give his friend Agudelo a DP contract.
4) jozy- would LOVE him here.
5) joshua gatt- wouldn't cost DP money, but he is injured a lot
6) Brad guzan- if we are getting a goal keeper for Dp I want time howard
7) AJ- would love Mr. Kevin Bacon here
8) we could do better IMO than bedoya
I don't really want to just list Americans and say these are the best, but we have to be honest, unlike every other nationality, you get more bang for your buck if you can sign high quality players that are also American.

Half of that list I can't see happening. Jones and Mix seem to be the standouts, with Jozy coming in right behind them. Mix and Jones are also free agents basically so that improves their chances.

Would Danny Williams and Stu Holden be DPs too? I really like to see Williams in MLS. He has Beckerman like qualities.

I think danny williams would be. Stu holden is so unlucky though. So many set backs

Danny Williams is tits. That kid can play. Sadly, he'd take a DP spot, and unlike Mix, I don't know if the return would be great enough from a financial/media perspective.

I've been on the Mix train a long time. I love the kid. I asked Claudio about him at the meet n greet. He acted like he loved him too. The issue seemed to be one of whether he was worth the DP slot.

After we got Villa, I think I'd be okay with it. But remember, it may not have to be that way. We could end up with more DPs and/or more cap space with the new CBA. I'm sure the front office knows where the league intends to settle on these issues.

And let's be frank here: there's no way in hell MLS would not piss themselves to get Mix. He's a got-dam national hero already just because he's so fucking cool.

Any chance the Admins can move the USA player talk from here to the new thread?

Since you asked so politely...

Please every note that a whole load of posts have just been moved over - I think I've taken almost half of the original thread. Some posts obviously talked about both US and foreign DPs, so if a post down this chat doesn't make sense, it's probably because part of it was referring to the old thread. I apologise for any confusion, but it's not always easy to keep the flow of one conversation going across two separate threads. Hopefully it won't cause any problems.

Now that I think about it, Mix wearing Yankee fitteds more often could mean he's already agreed to join NYCFC and they're just waiting till his contract expires to announce it.

Man listen, don't hype me up like that. Maybe he just likes NYC and the Yankees?

Maybe AO-LI member seen here will switch from RBNY to NYCFC if Mix comes over.

So, that John Brooks lad looks promising. ;)

If the DP slot was to go to a defender I would grab him. MAN he is massive, and only 21...

another german american I would go for is Shawn Parker....

side note...imagine if the USA nabs Shawn Parker AND zelelam......what an attack we would have in the future...Alitdore, Johansson, Parker, Green, Boyd, Zelelam, and maybe even fagundez battling for a spot in the attacking position......

A young DP striker like Johansson would be awesome with Villa.

I was calling for him to be considered earlier in the thread before his heroics and now think he would be an even better signing (since his new found prestige in America).

That said, I don't think MLS has quite reached the level where it can attract young players with massive pontential already playing in one of the top leagues in the world. And if he continues to get match time in the tournament, and shows the sort of quality defending he did yesterday (which I personally think was more impressive than the goal), I have a feeling Hertha will be receiving some transfer bids from more prestigious English and German clubs.

idk man, look at micheal bradley coming here from Roma. Or even Gilberto at Toronto. It could very well happen. However, I think the most likely young american to cross the pond is Terrence boyd. How would you guys feel about him partnering with Villa up top?

Boyd is interesting in my opinion. He has good attacking instincts and hold up play. He is attracting interest from wigan atheltic who are in the championship in England. They are trying to get him at 3 million. That is a very small price tag for a player like him in my opinion.

Like City who could loan him to NYC for a season to see how he does?

Yeah but Bradley was influenced by the need to get playing time before the World Cup. I'll be interested to see whether some of the MLS stars stay with MLS after the World Cup or head to Europe. Have to be a few teams thinking about Dempsey after his goal. He hasn't lost it; Fulham is just terrible.
