Like City who could loan him to NYC for a season to see how he does?
idk man, look at micheal bradley coming here from Roma. Or even Gilberto at Toronto. It could very well happen. However, I think the most likely young american to cross the pond is Terrence boyd. How would you guys feel about him partnering with Villa up top?
Boyd is interesting in my opinion. He has good attacking instincts and hold up play. He is attracting interest from wigan atheltic who are in the championship in England. They are trying to get him at 3 million. That is a very small price tag for a player like him in my opinion.
I think you pick Schalke in that scenario. Are they playing in Europe this season? Always pick Champions League or Europa League football
Southampton might get relegated next year. But they are great at developing players so???
Great idea. That would be great for NYC and for MC. I think he has the potential to be a top 5-10 CB in the world when it all finally clicks for him. As Herzog said, he just needs to learn to be a dirtbag sometimes.Like City who could loan him to NYC for a season to see how he does?
I see no way we sign a DP in goal, and I would be surprised about a CB. Given the pool of keeper talent, it's not economically efficient to use a slot for a GK. I just don't think the WAR could be great enough. For my money, you snag a keeper or two from the expansion draft and call it a day while developing someone within. Plenty of solid keepers will be left unprotected.I agree that JJ would be a great addition. Imagine if NYC got Mix and JJ instead of Frank? That would be a nice duo and one that could last a few years.
Still think NYCFC wants "spine" DPs. So I think they'll focus on one DP in the middle and another in center defense or even GK.
He did mention building up the middle but he didnt say that the DP's would used up the middle. I think he mentioned they would get a GK first which didnt happen. I think they want to build the spine first but that doesnt meant the spine players will be DP.Wasn't there a tweet or something where Reyna said they were going the spine route for DPs?
Anyone else remember that?
I completely agree with this. There are plenty of GKs and defenders in MLS that NYCFC could build a solid back line with. What we will have a hard time finding in MLS is technically gifted attackers/creators. So those are the guys the management should be looking to use the DP slots for.it has seemed like you can get a backline and GK through MLS. The tough spot is to find attacking and creative players. Which is why I think the next two DPs will be one guy who can put the ball in the goal and another guy who can create for others.
Thank you. Yes you are right that is what he said.He did mention building up the middle but he didnt say that the DP's would used up the middle. I think he mentioned they would get a GK first which didnt happen. I think they want to build the spine first but that doesnt meant the spine players will be DP.
Thank you. Yes you are right that is what he said.
And I agree that the DPs should not be used on defense or GK.
With that said, if NYCFC doesn't use at least one DP on a American I will be a little disappointed. And it's okay if it isn't Mix Diskerud, even though he is very talented & has great hair.
Jermaine Jones would be my number 1 target right now if I was Reyna
He was awesome tonight. Kreis and Reyna need to do whatever it takes. An American DP who can be the all-out box-to-box destroyer you need, oh and he can score too.Jermaine Jones would be my number 1 target right now if I was Reyna
