I received an email from the club today around 2pm, apologizing about an earlier email that they say was sent to me by mistake due to an email filtration error. But I checked my inbox, trash and spam and didn't receive the earlier email.
So just for kicks and curiousity, does anybody know what this was about?

Got the oops email too, never got the original.

Oh I did get that. Gmail marked it as spam, saying "We've found that lots of messages from mcfc.sportmailer.com are spam." Which, Lolz.
I figured with the base domain sportsmailer.com (instead of mcfc.co.uk), and the wrong name (who the hell is Derek?), that this was very inept spam rather than an actual CFG screw up. I overestimated them again I guess. But very much no harm no foul, I just find it amusing.

Mine was named Connor, and the weird thing is that the email mentioned personal info not being sent out and they won't spam and yet this is exactly what happened

Just in case anyone was curious about the email, here's a screen shot. The name and info are all of someone who isn't me. Unfortunately the guy doesn't have a facebook page so I wasn't even able to FB stalk my CFG e-brother.

You made me check mine. Found him. NYCFC fan, right age. But he's also a Chelsea fan so he might not have been too excited about getting a signed MCFC shirt.

When I got it and looked for it , I could not find it and did not give it a second thought and I forgot all about until I read the above thread. Decided to give it a second look. Found it on the spam file and I was looking for a NYCFC email not MCFC.

Thank you guys for explaining the mystery.:D

watching terminator now

I am a Terminator fan. Which Terminator movie are you watching? I went to see the new movie (Genesys) today. It was good but bit confusing with all the time travel back and forth but I enjoyed it nevertheless. By the way I never realized matinee prices are very good with today's prices (cost $7.49 vs $18.00) first time I go to a theater at 11 AM

What if somewhere in Manchester there's a bunch of guys with our personal information stalking us?

Its to late to worry about that- Once you enter the cyber world your info is everywhere and available to anyone who who knows how to hack a computer; from your government ; friends; foes, the Antichrist, your mother in law, your girlfriend, name it ...they will find you and make your life hell.

Many, many years ago, way before any of us knew how computers would change the planet and our lives . I heard on a radio show discussing the Antichrist and how widely it was believed that President Reagan was the Antichrist, one of the invited panelist disagreed, and said that the mark of the beast was the bar code. Today that bar code that in today's world is used into everything; from supermarket to your personal medical records an even some people are implanting into their skin or their pets. this is just a thought...
