Did you and Angela decide that? The first half was arguably the worst 45 I've ever witnessed by a professional player.

Before then, he was doing okay. Not a good fit, but okay. Then, it was like he died. That's why I refer to him as Zombie Pirlo now.

i didnt decide that... he actually won man of the match, if theres a way to look it up feel free

Man of the Match…
Sean Okoli

On the night he scored his first MLS goal, Okoli hinted that he is more than capable of playing at this level.

Sean has only been seen in one other start at Columbus and in fleeting cameos as a substitute, but this was his most impressive showing to date as he put in a proper no.9’s shift, holding up the ball and bringing his teammates into play.

Right on cue.

Does anybody here want that ticket OR want to exchange two tickets elsewhere in the stadium for seats with other forum members? (I'm not sure what my plan is yet but the person I might bring probably wants to sit somewhere a little more relaxed)
Sorry to hear that. I hope the tickets find another happy home if you decide not to join us.

More generally, I do desperately plead with everyone coming with us to be well behaved. There has obviously been a lot of fan nonsense at the derbies including just last week. Inevitably blame falls on both sides to at least some degree though I really have no idea having never been part of it. I'm sure there will be more this time around and we may be near it as we will be a few sections over from the official traveling support.

I personally have had zero problems traveling to any stadium in MLS including RBA several times and other places that have reported problems like Orlando and Philly. I will be there with my daughter and some others will have their kids too. So, let's please root like crazy for NYCFC, but keep it civil and avoid silliness with the RB fans.

And if we win, I'll insist you all come with me again come August 25th.

See everyone Saturday.

So . . remember when Viewfrom226 Viewfrom226 arranged those group tickets for Saturday's match?

Well . . . in the end the friend I was planning to bring bailed on me.

The seats are Section 222 Row 19.

Oh, and one more thing: Fuck the redbulls for killing demand and atmosphere for this game with their absurd prices.

I may be able to swap with you if you're still interested.

You mean the post game live? Can't believe I wasted my time on this, but went to the tape. Scanned through it up to 24 minutes. And oh boy, the reviews were glowing.

"I've made promises not talk too much about my opinions on Pirlo" "he doesn't fit this team"

Most positive thing said "there were worse things out there than Pirlo" (I disagree, there were not.)

ETA: so if it happened, you only have to start at around 26 to find it. Wasn't before then. I quit there, so can't say with certainty it didn't happen.

no chance u listened to the whole thing because there was a lot of back and forth. Me and Schwallacus actually went back and forth about if for a while as well as Mike who ran the podcast said he was one of our better players and absolutely not the reason we lost.

- anyway want to be clear because one user clearly took me disagreeing with him personally... this is all in good fun and i appreciate your opinions, hopefully you appreciate mine and dont take my opinions personally. At the end of the day we are all NYCFC fans and want whats best for the team

EDIT: Figured out how to tag someone

You think I took that personally? Not a chance.

I wasn't even message board annoyed (which translates to about 1/100 on real life annoyed, which is still 1/100 of "taking something personally").

Don't try to high road me, n00b. (ETA: Obligatory ;) )

Oh. Well, still. Point stands!

(How the hell did you even know that someone blocked you?)

(Yes, I'm starting a vacation, nominally, tommorow. Work contribution wise, yesterday around 2:30.)

Jumping in because I wasn't originally in this group but I bought SoupInNYC 's ticket. Wondering if any of the forum crowd is planning on traveling in with the Third Rail or perhaps interested in meeting in the city beforehand (maybe not quite as early as TR) to head over together.

“I was brought up to not like Man United,” Wright-Phillips said as the Red Bulls prepare to face local rival New York City FC on Saturday at Red Bull Arena. “I would hope my children do not like NYCFC.”

Asked for one word that comes to mind when he thinks of NYCFC, Wright-Phillips said: “Hate. I really don’t like them. I think they were put here for that.”

MLS STAR PLAY PROMOTES HATE AMONG HIS CHILDREN

- BuzzFeed Headline

Followed by 17 thing a MLS soccer player wants his kids to hate.

I'd be shocked if Mata started this weekend.
I'd love to see Mata come in as a late game sub to run havok on the RB's right flank (like he did his first game back). If we can tire out their midfield and defense, and there's no reason to think we can't considering many of them were sucking wind in the Cup match versus our A/B squad, then Mata's speed could really expose Zizzo & co. badly. That could also be when Lewis is brought in on the right to create a dual track meet versus their tired legs.
