Yeah I was a Dick... not proud of myself.

Don’t know what it is exactly but he truly does bring out the worst in me. Oh wait I know- he talks down to people simply because they don’t agree with him.

Sort of like “take that to a moon truther forum or something.” Just dismissive dirt bag comments.

Maybe they didn’t use turf in 1893 cause it DIDNT EXIST regardless of the condition of the field. That was the point which you’re too dim witted to get.
That's not the point of my post. You were making a bad historical argument said that we don't know the condition of the field because we were not alive in 1893. You can say that about any historical event that you were not alive for.

The fact is that the grass was a viable option at the site for 70 years until they went to turf in the 1960s. They even rebuild the stadium multiple times over that time period, which would be incredibly stupid if it was a shit site for a grass sports venue. Paulson said as recently as last year has said that a return to grass is a possibility. Portland State football is a bigger reason there is turf there than that creek.

So, anyone have recommendations of places to see or things to do in Portland? I'll be going.
Portland Japanese Garden, 4-4-2 Soccer Bar, Burnside Brewery, Portland Saturday Market, Stumptown Coffee, Deschutes Brewery, Cascade Brewing, some fancy Whiskey Bar (will update as I remember things). My girlfriend actually just got back from visiting a friend in Portland and had another few spots she recommends, but I forgot off the top of my head.
4-4-2 is a great place to catch a game. If you want to catch Bundesliga or EPL or La Liga or Serie A at 7AM, go there. Went two years ago the day before our game vs. Portland and it was an awesome place. Scarves and kits hanging up all over the walls, 8-10 TVs for games.
The Saturday Market is a nice and vibrant spot, farmers market type place but right on the river.
Of Breweries, Deschutes was my favorite. There were a ton more that I didn't get to go to, but I guess I'll have to travel back soon.
Lots of trails and such if you enjoy hiking, seeing the massive trees in the northwest is always a fun thing to do/see.
