If your computer has an HDMI port just pick up a $10 HDMI cable and connect right to the TV. Then just switch it to act as your monitor. That's what I usually do when traveling. I have a chromecast and bring it along but I always just wind up using the HDMI cable.
Boy, did DirecTV fuck me over today. I got my parents signed up for the Yes Network. We watched a few minutes this afternoon and then set the game to record.
This was going to be the game where I sat with my parents and shared with them my passion for this team. Well, think again. The recording failed, and DirecTV kept saying that we weren't subscribed to the channel. They recommended restarting the box. That took over 15 minutes and it still didn't work. 25 minutes on with customer service still didn't work, although after much effort I managed to cancel the Yes Network without a $10 fee.
What a bunch of stinking bullshit. I was considering getting DirecTV. Never ever!
