Block 204 - Any Good?

Thanks for the info Gotham Gator much appreciated. My last visit was quite brief as I was on route to LA, LV & SF but we managed to cram in lots of the usual sight-seeing stuff - top of the Empire State Building, boat trip around Manhattan Island, Yankees v Tigers game, Central Park, shopping & of course plenty of bars! One of the lads I travelled with is sadly no longer with us so I expect it might trigger a few emotions as we had such a great trip.

I'll check out that thread but we'll be heading to the Mad Hatter to watch the Man City game. Other friends have been there & it's generally seen as the go to place for Blues in NYC.

Well my all too brief trip to NYC is over & I'm back at work in not so sunny Manchester. Had a brilliant time in the city, the locals were top class everywhere we went & the sun shone throughout which was a bonus. It has to be said though that the WTC memorial site is a credit to your city & was a very moving experience.

I really enjoyed Saturday nights game which seemed to be so typical of many of this seasons NYCFC matches I've seen on TV. Lots of goals, missed chances & defending that seemed a bit kamikaze at times from both teams. I thought City were going to blow the 3 goal lead & God knows how their striker hit the post after rounding Saunders. He's quite an angry man by the way! However after 2 wins in the space of a few days the mood of the crowd was pretty buoyant post match & the play offs are still mathematically on. Obviously Pirlo, Villa & Lampard grab all the headlines over here but I thought there were some decent performances across the park. The build up for Grabavoys 2nd goal was decent. The boy Poku is clearly a crowd favourite & maybe as a result tried to do too much himself when he was eventually brought on.

It's quite clear that you've a passionate hardcore support already which hopefully will continue to grow in the coming years. Judging by the amount of excitable kids sat in our section the enthusiasm is certainly there which bodes well.

Nice touch with the free t-shirt at the turnstiles although I was a bit taken aback by having to go through a metal detector! I'll be raising my NYCFC coffee mug in the wee small hours the next time you're on TV & it's past my bedtime.

Hopefully I'll be back a bit sooner next time. Best of luck for the rest of this season. Keep the faith!

I think you have that backwards. Poku is a crowd favorite because he's as unstoppable as a freight train. He *always* plays that way. He's going to be dangerous with a few years experience when those "tries to hard" moments turn into "wow, I can't believe he just did that" moments.

I was a bit taken aback by having to go through a metal detector!
Welcome to New York!

Hopefully I'll be back a bit sooner next time.
Stop by any time. Happy to have you.
