Coming over to NYC in September & will be taking in the San Jose game. My cousin from Queens has got us 4 seats in block 204 & I was wondering what to expect. Is it a decent view? Any chanting? Etc. Not been to NYC since 1998 so really looking forward to mooching round the city again & of course the game! Hopefully by then the team will be in a much higher position too. Went to the old YS last time & had a great night so hoping for more of the same.

Not bad, I'd say.

You can see it full screen and interactive at http://nycfc.io-media.com/

You'll be close to City Beats. So a good amount of brass band. Not sure about chanting over there. Almost certainly expect people to be sitting down in that section.

I noticed that. We've sat in 208 and 209 before, but my son wanted to try the other side of the stadium last night. We ended up in 229 and looking over towards the right field foul pole I was damn glad too. It appeared to me even the last rows of each section over on that side were getting blasted. Looked damn uncomfortable.

Sunny until 745pm.
Not in mid September. Sunset at 7pm, last direct sun in the stadium way before that. Also, average temperatures that time of year in the mid 60s, give or take 10°.

Hey, we could have met. I'm a 229 regular. Section has been kind of empty the last 2-3 games it seems. A good number of folks aren't showing up and another good number come late it seems. Glad to have a couple of extras.

I was the handsome gentleman (albeit a tad overweight  ) hobbling around on a steel blue cane. We were in the back of the section (row 18). Hope you weren't the guy sitting in front of me.........I jumped up so fast on the Mix goal I rapped the guy upside the head with the aforementioned cane.

No worries. That was someone else you bopped on the head. I'm row 13 seats 1-2. Had my 10-year old daughter with me last night. And I'm also a handsome gent albeit a tad overweight, but no cane at the moment.

Thanks Seth. I'll settle for that view. Which dugout is closest, home or away team?
Home is the one right in front of you, away is the one off to the right. Note that they don't have the shelters any more now that the weather's turned nice, just an open row of seats.

Brass band? Hope they are better than the clowns that follow England. They do my head in & have a very limited repertoire.:(

Hopefully we'll be able to applaud David Villa off the pitch after he's completed his hat-trick.

The week has finally arrived & I can't wait to be back in NYC for the first time in 17 years. I'll be flying out on Thursday morning hopefully in the knowledge that the team picked up the 3 points against Toronto a few hours earlier. Got the small matter of City v Juventus in the UCL to attend to tomorrow night first & then it's full steam ahead. Hoping to see a few perfectly sized lovely ladies on Saturday!

Glad you are coming. Hope it's a great day for you.

Section 204 is in the bleachers. I sat in 205 for the Orlando City game. As you can see from the picture above, it is near mid-pitch, but because of the shape of the stadium, it's pulled back a bit from the sideline. It's also lower than the second level in most of the stadium, which means your view is recessed and a little low. Still, the view is good.

The crowd there may not be regulars, as these seats are often sold on a single match basis or to groups. Still, you will be right around the corner from the supporters section, who are in the bleachers behind one of the goals - so, you should be able to hear them well. Make sure to learn all the words to "Hey baby!"

Citybeats have now moved to the area behind home plate and well removed from the pitch.

You will not be near a dugout, but in the outfield. The home dugout will be on your left behind the goal line. The visiting dugout will be across the pitch. This is where the players march out at the start of the match.

The weather should be perfect - a cool and crisp fall day. Enjoy.

p.s. There is another thread started by a man who is looking for a place to watch Saturday's Man City game. You should check it out.

Let us know how it goes. I am curious to know your impression of how the city has changed in the last 17 years.
