But of a snooze fest. I’m pretty sure we had 1 goal off of 2 shots on target.
We are REALLY bad at picking the right passes in the final third. Sweat is a huge part of that problem. Some of those crosses make you wonder if he even sees more than 10 feet in front of him and is just booting it hoping the ball finds a teammate.
Lucky to be playing a team that’s worse than us and coming away with a much needed 3 points.
Great to see Parks get a run out. He had an interchange where he made a great run into a channel shortly after coming on but whoever was on the ball was far too slow to be able to pick out the pass.

Three people were escorted out of the supporter section right at the end of the game by police. One walked out on his own, One was surrounded by police but was walking on his own, the last had his arms restrained behind his back by an officer. The murmurings were they were the racists, but then another guy said they were antifa

Two sides of the same coin.

FWIW for the first time in 5 seasons in 129 I was asked to sit down. At 87’. With nobody behind me (a guy three rows back gave me a WTF nod). Possible that Sri Lanka and April have security on edge.

We were missing Mitri’s aggressiveness.

Maxi should never take another PK. EVER.

Even though the score line won’t blow anyone away. We were never in trouble and had control of the match from the start. We won with only 1 DP playing. 5th place and moving up!

So, two shots on target over 90 minutes concerns me. I don't like having Maxi running around as part of a front 3. I'd much rather have him pulled back behind two strikers and ahead of a double pivot.

ETA: regarding the penalty, Ousted guessed correctly and dove before Maxi really even shaped to strike the ball, so I have a hard time totally blaming Maxi for the save. You could complain that he could have struck it harder or tried to go top corner, but I chalk this one up to "sometimes keepers guess correctly".

So who takes PK's from now on? I'd probably go Mitri or Heber since their being paid to score goals, though neither was on the field at the time of the PK...

Important to win a slow grinding game like that. Didn’t watch the whole thing, but we seemed pretty in control.

Thought the field looked good today compared to the last disaster. And shocked that announced attendance was over 21k. Announced attendance in New England was 9400 0_o

The problem with Maxi on both his shots in the run of play and PKs is that he just doesn't seem capable of kicking the ball hard enough most of the time. I fully agree with you, get him behind the strikers setting them up, he's a masterful assist guy, he can't finish as the runner so why keep putting him there. Also, absolutely no more PKs.

Scouting from a poster around the time we signed Mitri was that he's somewhat suspect on PKs himself. Heber seems and calm so far I'd give them to him with ITS as the other alternative if he's on the pitch.

I watched Maxi in warmups and I think you are right. He doesn’t have a shot. Which is probably why he is in MLS and not Europe. But he is still a character player, top shelf MLS and the keystone of our squad.
Sands and Ring and Callens all struck the ball with confidence and accuracy in warmups. The difference was clear. Maxi shouldn’t be taking pens.

Didn't see this game either! On a two game winning streak when I miss a match this year.

Happy we won of course but did I see that right? We have one of our worst shooters taking and missing his second straight PK?

Let Mitrita or Heber or heck even Ring moving forward.

Oh and DCU won at CLB. We handled one of the 2 best teams in the east at their house.
