College Football Playoff Idea

Had a discussion with a friend the other day that I figured I'd post here because why not?

What if we had the winner of the college football playoff, play the worst team in the NFL in a single game "super bowl-like" event.

We could call it the draft bowl or the alumni bowl or something.

I would so watch Alabama beat the crap out of the Cleveland Browns.

I still think the Browns would win it. As bad as they are, they have 11 NFL starting caliber football players on both sides of the ball. Alabama only has a handful.

This is a popular topic. "Would Alabama beat the Browns" autocompletes on Google. The consensus is Alabama could not beat the Browns except in a fluke, and those who hold that position say it's not even close for basically the reasons 7 just said. The distance between college and pro football is bigger than most realize according to the consensus. There are some who disagree. I tend to side with the pros on this myself.

I would never want to see such a game. It's bad enough reading tons of pro-rel arguments on all the footy boards. I don't want to start to see them about the NFL as well.

The difference in skill of the O and D lines alone would make it nearly impossible for the college team to compete on either side of the ball. And the speed of the game is so immensely different at the pro level,

Also, take into account how the body physically matures. A squad of 20-23 year olds vs a squad of 24-30 year olds. The strength and size differences would be scary.
