I hope Ohio State and the Bears stay away from Marcus Freeman. The only downside is if it costs Day his job.
Lifetime contract, please.

Interesting debate would be whether the OSU job is preferable to ND right now. OSU probably offers more support and resources and NIL, but it's kind of toxic at the moment. If you come in and don't both beat Michigan immediately and win a natty by year 3 I think you're on the hot seat. Sustained excellence is not sufficient in that job, unless you also do the other 2 things.I hope Ohio State and the Bears stay away from Marcus Freeman.
So, with him fired, what's Plan B?Dammit Sherrone! Not cool. Very disappointing.
Lots of speculation but no clear front runner, especially when you consider the likelihood of candidates leaving their current position. Oddly though, the consensus seems to be that whoever it is will be an upgrade. I've defended Sherrone on Reddit and until this week I very much liked him, but for all that I think he was still learning on the job and it hurt the program. Inheriting a perennial Top 25 (mostly Top 10-15) blue blood program with zero head coaching experience can be daunting even for the best. I think he struggled with some delegation and hiring elements of the job, and a bit with game management. So, with him fired, what's Plan B?
I think he struggled with management of something a bit more, ahem, personal.Lots of speculation but no clear front runner, especially when you consider the likelihood of candidates leaving their current position. We know that now.I think he struggled with management of something a bit more, ahem, personal.
Official info is sparse: he was fired for an inappropriate relationship with an employee, and was arrested after incidents at both his home and that employee's home the day he was fired. He's being arraigned today. Is there any clarity on what exactly was going on with Sherrone and why he was arrested?
