A great team goal leading to Heber scoring and then a golazo by Taty get NYCFC a road point in Columbus. NYCFC is now unbeaten in 9 games, and spoils Zack Steffen's sending off party from Columbus.
This was a trap game for many reasons, so as frustrating as yet another fucking draw is, I'm satisfied with it.
Mitrita is not as shitty as Medina, but let's face it, he is a bust. We have enough sample size at this point to see that he is not DP caliber player. We have two DP slots locked up with players that are probably not even in our best XI.
New team Logo:
In that case, you need to be good enough to beat defenders and create opportunities for yourself. He has not proven that yet, so if I were Dome, I wouldn't trust him in my lineup.Disagree. Easily our most talented player. He doesn’t trust his teammates. Teams know he won’t pass the ball.
We would have moved to 5th with a win.I didn’t realize we would have gone top of the east with a win tonight

Yeah - For branding purposes, they should fix that. I've asked them to rename the teams. It's so consistent. (Impact compared to the rest). I don't even use the NYCFC app anymore.
I'm not quite at "bust" with Mitri, I think there's still opportunity for him to adapt to mls, his teammates and find his role. He has shown a couple of moments of quality.
All of Reyna's great non-DP finds keep us from being abysmal, rather than complementing productive DPs to make us elite. He does the harder job well and the easier job poorly.Mitrita is able to win us a penalty with his speedy diagonal runs, and he has a quick release and a good cannon on his right foot. OTOH, because he holds on the ball too long even when he's in our own half, he's also lucky not have directly cost us a goal yet. Today he was stripped of the ball in a pocket between midfield and our 18, and was lucky to be awarded a soft foul. I'm not thrilled and thus far the "Romanian Giovinco" moniker looks waaaay off-base. Of course, Medina is not even in the 18, so that's a different category of disappointment. Then again we have James Sands, who is playing like a DP in a HG suit.
It’s the system. Ring is not an 8 - he’s a 6 - and in this system he’s tasked with box-to-box play in addition to DMid. He should be below the play to read what’s happening and then vector in to kill the attack. Hard to do that when tracking back from the attack.I feel like Ring is regressing. Is it the system? The fact that he got the C? The only things I notice with him these days are his temper and card accumulation.
I hate Mitri and Maxi’s attitudes. They always look like it’s a bother for them to be out there. A far cry from Heber who looks like he’s having fun. And that translates into success.
SJ had a strong game. Steffen as well. Nice send off for him.
9 unbeaten is great, but we should absolutely be leaving with 3 points against this injury ravaged Crew team.
