Gene, sounds like you might like my idea here

Only thing better would be having the Cosmos buy out RBNY and move the team to New Jersey.

Yes he's doing good things with his money, but some would argue he is part of government with a poor record on human rights and his charitable giving doesn't change that fact. Lets face it we live in a world where if you have enough money people will overlook a great many things.
As evidenced in this country as well.

Thing is we know who owns MC. The Cosmos are sorta owned by Sela Sports and at his O'Brien fellow with his One World Sports enterprise. We don't actually know the breakdown. Both of them are enigmas and we don't actually know if they have MLS money anyway.

It was the first article that popped up, in any event I was just pointing out that NYFC's owner is somewhat controversial. Lord knows I've been beaten over the head about it enough on twitter by certain Red Bull fans
I understand that what I was trying to put across is this. The best way to combat attacks on Sheikh Mansour (God Bless Him) is to learn something about him. Some knowledge about our owner is useful. God knows I have had this argument over the years since he bought City.

I would imagine the Fake Cosmos are swimming in money. After all they saved millions when they refused to join MLS (despite Garber getting down on his knees and begging). Controlling all the income from those huge ticket sales and tv revenue has filled their pockets I'm sure. It's my understanding there's BIG money in Blackout Jersey's

It's pretty bad, I am sure I am not the only one they (Cosmos) sent free season tickets to, I didn't get to go to the first couple of games and ended up giving them all away to a friend in Queens, who is a big soccer fan. I didn't want them to go to waste.

While I absolutely agree that UAE need reforms to address many issues, I also believe that to be the case for the US, UK, Russia, Mexico, and many other countries. Peaceful cultural/economic exchange is one of the most effective means of change (and unfortunately one of the easiest to be destroyed through extremist perspective and actions). I welcome the creation of holdings in countries that demand these rights to slowly but surely create more pressure to do the same in the origin nations. Sheikh Mansour, while not perfect by any means, is considered quite progressive and has already worked to improve working conditions, expand basic social services, and begin judicial reforms. There is quite a bit more left to do–and he may not be the man to do it–but most peaceful change comes in increments and to expect otherwise is dangerous, as we are now seeing elsewhere (not that I believe it is unjust to overthrow tyrants but there is a steep cost and one has to ask whether it is worth it, then accept your role in the outcome of whatever action is undertaken).

In short, every country should be on a condemnation list of Human Rights Watch for one thing or another, so we should all be actively working to engage, entangle, and normalise, not divide and diminish.

We usually don't give a shit about our next door neighbors most of the year, let alone people in a continent halfway around the world unless it has to do with a rival club.
