Throw the kid in the fire and see how he comes out. He's played in tournaments with the youth national teams, so he understands make or break knockout round games. If he's worse than Miller, our youth system needs to be burnt down and restarted.

Whomever we have on the right side of our defense will have to deal with Hyndman and Meram. Not easy, but better than the left side, who will have to deal with Pity Martinez and Julian Gressel.

Theres seemed to be a consensus in the chatbox that the Univision english language announcers for this game, Univision B, were better than the usual Univision A team.
It also seemed to me that one of the announcers sounded a lot like Dan Patrick. It took me about 30 minutes to place who I kept thinking he was reminding me of, but it was there all game. It was not just the voice but his intonation and cadence. Wondering if anyone else thought so. I also wonder if the guy developed his style by listening to other sports TV personalities and he inadvertently let a bit too much of Patrick into his own style.

They were definitely better- except they kept throwing shade at Isi. At one point they said something like 'At one moment he looked like he was about to pull an Arjen Robben... But there's one big difference between them. If it's Robben, it goes in. If it's Shradi, it's in the stands." and I was dumbfounded because... I guess they've not seen the Shradi highlight real of goal-after-goal-after-goal?
I went off on this exact thing. The second they said that I said to my wife that I hate commentators who don't really know the teams. Isi has one of (if not) the best goals per shot ratios in the league the last two years (as has been reviewed in another thread).

Shradi scores a lot of goals, granted they aren't a cut in from the right and shoot on the left-handed cut type. Don't let your BVB bias cloud the commentary
It was an interesting comment, but Shradi did end up missing by a large margin. I have the feeling the announcers were probably paid hourly and just threw together whatever random soccer knowledge they had. Oh look, that guy cut in onto his left foot, lets insert generic Arjen Robben comparison.
And when grading national announcers, I can't take off for not knowing specifics team news and traits because almost none of them do it. Regarding the penalty shout on Miller.
When I saw it live, I thought it was a penalty. When I saw the replay, I still thought it was a penalty. I couldn’t figure out why VAR didn’t reverse. Then, I watched Instant Replay, with lots of different angles, and those guys said penalty, and I agreed.
Then, I read the comments, and someone pointed out that the initial contact was outside the box, and sure enough...
For all the justified bitching we do about PRO and its refs, they got the penalty call right, and they got it right in seconds when everyone else had hours and still didn’t get there.

well to be fair .... he didn't call the foul outside the box either. so it was a bad no-call that went in our favor.
Definitely true. The ref should have called the foul, but would have been so easy for him to have called the penalty and VAR to have fucked it up. That would have been a huge mistake, and they got that part right.
Can't believe something positive came out of the comments section.
