Why do people want teams that are successful and have a great following to get a do-over? Houston? Salt Lake?? Seriously?
So how do you fit a stadium in that little piece of land next to the Marlins park?
You just started watching MLS, didn't you? Enjoy the weekend.
The point is if a club is really successful both on and off the field but reviled by outsiders, what's the point of a rebrand?
They just created a minor league team called Real Monarchs SLC. Does that offend you too?
Multiple sellouts, a STH list longer than most MLS teams, including NYC and Orlandos says your wrong. Please, just stop.None of this "offends" me but if they want to double down on dumb names let them. Im also sure some if not many of the detractors of the name are not just outsiders but also Salt Lake residents and supporters.
This is exactly what I've been saying!!
Something tells me these people don't give a fat rats ass one way or another what we think.![]()
What, he thinks RSL is phony and our name is legit? We're a branding knock-off. They're at least somewhat original.
RSL is just a clever way of calling them Salt Lake Royals or Kings or Monarchs. Do you hate the LA Kings or Kansas City Royals, too? I used to hate it but now I see it like the Packers. On the surface, the Packers is a laughably stupid name but the team has given it meaning.
Besides, I think Real Salt Lake is better known as "RSL" just as Queens Park Rangers are more commonly referred to as "QPR".
Completely agree on your last pointWhat, he thinks RSL is phony and our name is legit? We're a branding knock-off. They're at least somewhat original.

I'm glad overseas papers write about MLS, but it would be nice if it wasn't consistently out of date and recycled. I read that article and it's exactly the same as it was a month ago. No public progress, I get it. But publishing this story (again) makes it sound like Beckham has been rejected again or its failed.David Beckham’s Miami MLS franchise is running out of false starts
Two stadium plans have fallen through because of politics – and people close to Beckham say that when a third is announced shortly it has to succeed

That's just the way they are.I'm glad overseas papers write about MLS, but it would be nice if it wasn't consistently out of date and recycled. When it's failed or succeeds, report something, don't just make up things and spin hyperbola.
