Looks like Beckham wasn't lying, he'll have something to announce shortly....
Ronaldo to MLS in 2018...which is also the projected date for Miami to join MLS? Hmmm....
Pretty bummed as a Northern Californian. Sac Republic absolutely blew up over the last year and a half and really showed that NorCal cares about soccer. They'll be in MLS, but I'm not really sure why something proven is losing out to something literally nonexistent (Miami). I guess the same could be said about NYCFC haha

Here's why:
and this:
Balotelli at the beach in Miami
Messi at the beach in Miami
Ronaldo at the beach in Miami
Yeah that's Neymar and yeah that's Miami
Now let's try the same with Sacramento...

Oh yeah? WELLLL Sacramento has...uh...a river! And...um...a riverboat that doesn't actually function? Sounds pretty awesome, eh Messi???
NYCFC, LAFC, Galaxy and Miami will be the swinging dicks of the jungle when it comes to DPs.

It was written in Beckham's original mls contract that he can buy a new franchise at a discounted rate. Or something like that. So this has been the plan for 7+ years while Sac is new on the scene. They'll just have to wait a little longer

Actually Beckham already exercised his MLS franchise rights, Miami already has "their franchise". But MLS won't let them into the league until a stadium deal is done.
You would think with Sacramento's comments today, that deal must be close to being done. Otherwise, why tell Sacramento to hit the road (for now)?
Yeah a stadium must be in the works for miami. It better not be a temp one at FIU.
Mods : Just a suggestion, maybe we can have one thread on all expansion news ?

I'm okay with FIU as temp as long as there are perm plans for their own stadium. We don't want another homeless team running around.
