Final Day Before We Kick A Ball In Anger

Everyone on here who reads this today will be forever a part of the group that supported a team before it had ever kicked a ball in anger (pardon my appropriation of that term from our overseas detractors). I read the forums for a while in the spring before I signed up in July, I wonder, what have been the best times you've had here so far? For me, the drafts were fun, looking at the first pics of the team in uniform and trying to figure out everyone's number, the Frank drama and eventual reveal of the cuckolding. What about you?

My favorite was the first few days of training when we were going through the photos and saw the team together for the first time. That's when it really became real for me.

The first few weeks from the announcement onward were the most exciting for me. The badge unveil and the day season tickets went on sale are what stand out the most. That's when it was finally starting to shape up. I've really enjoyed coming here and I think I signed up within the first month of the forums being created. I don't normally post on forums so this whole experience has largely been a first for me. I laugh when detractors call us plastic because so many of you have been so adamant and supportive of this team before we've even been able to see a game. It's nice to see people who have passion for the game and other teams around the globe rally around what is finally OUR team in OUR city. I don't care who owns this team, it's time for MLS to see how New York City takes care of business.

I also like the stadium thread, and can't imagine how many post will finally have gone back and forth before we ever get into a new stadium.

I think he started to feel too persecuted by the anti-MCFC blood that was running hot around then. I tried to talk him down a couple times but it was a no go. Shame, I liked him too.

I just really enjoyed how this community reacted to the numerous stories that developed over the past 6 months to a year, and watching the growth of our culture as a fanbase. Seeing ideas for songs, chants, new Supporters clubs pop up and the overall evolution of NYCFC's fans kept me coming back every day. Especially after getting skewered on other MLS forums, and on reddit, it has been nice to get some context without all the hate.

This is a great online community and I hope to see it grow further as the season progresses. Do any other teams have their own dedicated forums like we do? Even searching "MLS Forums" on Google this forum is one of the top choices.

Folks it has been fun ... the hours worth of songs posted, pictures viewed, and obviously all the speculation ... it's been all good - looking forward to even more ... oh and also some actual soccer

Top moment for me was when Villa punched the first goal in vs. St. Mirren. That 2-0 win set the tone (and expectation) for the team. I'll never forget that moment.

Friendly or no, his celebration on that was all passion and class. Hopefully he gets another tomorrow.
