Former NYCFC II & Academy Players

You reject the premise of what a conflict of interest is?

The problem is that you’re defending your point of view by focusing on Gio while ignoring that Claudio was the one embroidered in the conflict of interest. You’re arguing a false narrative.
Seems like K Kjbert is arguing that conflict was avoided because the offer from CFG was weak.

But that isn't sufficient imo to prove that there was no conflict of interest. I think that FredMertz FredMertz was referring to this before when he said "we aren't talking about conflict of outcome".

Training compensation?
Not seeking training compensation was a MLS decision. All academy players now have to sign papers acknowledging that training compensation will be sought after of they go outside the federation. Gio didn't sign and MLS decided not to press the issue.

I reject your premise because you are assuming we were ever in the race. There’s nothing more to discuss.

I don’t know why this is difficult. The kid was never going to sign here. It’s like getting a full ride to Yale and you’re complaining that he didn’t consider going to Community College with no scholarship

That’s actually not what anybody is complaining about.

Here's another angle on it just because it's the offseason and what else do we have to do.

What if (1) yeah of course Claudio was conflicted, like FredMertz FredMertz is saying, but (2) Gio was never going to sign with an MLS club regardless, like K Kjbert is saying, and (3) by accepting the conflict, we got both a good sporting director and a kid who's the best possible advertisement for our academy?

I'm okay with that deal.

I tried to buy my son his jersey at the start of the season and it wasn’t available. I’ll have to look again

The all touches was posted on Twitter (and has since been taken down, or at least the one I saw) and I was even more impressed when watching that.

As incredible as the goal was, sometimes a flash in the pan can happen. Watching the all touches, he definitely belongs.
Definitely. He was threatening the whole time he was on the pitch. The layoff to Reus after he turned his man and played a give-and-go with Sanchez was sublime. The incident in the box that easily could have been a penalty showed how much he had gotten into the heads of the WB defenders.
