Game Of Thrones (spoilers)

Before and after photos. The city cut down the forest to make an open kill-zone.

Dany was stupid to legitimize Gendry - his claim is stronger than Jon/Aegon and Dany's
Gendry's father was a usurper with no claim to the throne, thus Gendrybhas nonclaim to the throne.

Not true. There’s a marriage/offspring tie between the Targaryens and Baratheons dating back a bit. Noted in Fire & Blood.

Robert, Stannis, Renly’s grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen daughter of Argon V. They’re 1/4 Targ and second cousins to Daenerys.

the Baratheons overthrew the king when their rebellion was successful so yes, they got the throne (doesn't matter if it was because of a lie or not) - saying the Targs should still be in charge would be like saying the English are the rightful rulers of America

"If anyone had thought to ask him, Tyrion could have told them not to bother. Unless one of those long iron scorpion bolts chanced to find an eye, the queen’s pet monster was not like to be brought down by such toys. Dragons are not so easy to kill as that. Tickle him with these and you’ll only make him angry." - ADWD Tyrion XI

Understood, but that same logic would put Dany or Jon's claim well ahead of Gendry given they would have defeated Cersei for this to be an issue.

Two things been bothering me to varying degrees.....

1. Seems like next episode is gonna be all about burning down King’s Landing and yet the de facto red witch, who has actually burned a young girl alive, left the show last episode. While her big role was the fight against the Night King as the Lord of Light’s emissary, it’s just a bit baffling that Melisandre decided her role was done when there’s a whole city waiting to be burned down (her side has a dragon so she had to know there was the chance of more s’mores roasting parties) - the same city she missed out on when her boys were roasted by the wildfire (ironic being beaten by her preferred skill set medium, albeit in chemical form). Just can’t believe she’s missing out on the greatest roasting since the night the lights went out in Harrenhal.

2. Now that the Night King has been beaten, what’s the point of Azor Ahai??? The whole point of him/her is to face the Great Darkness - ala the Night King. Now that the NK has been defeated, Azor Ahai either is on a really long sabbatical, or the show runners are going to quickly make, in the last two episodes, and evil greater/worse than the NK, which is either Cersei - and she takes a massive step over the edge worse than her previous church bombing genocide, which is possible but a bit forced with 2 episodes left - or - the crazy rumors about Jon/Daenerys becoming a new NK/NQ are gonna play out, but again, with two episodes left that feels like a forced way to unveil Azor Ahai. Or maybe the showrunners ignore this item completely, which would be a real cop out..... so any of those three possibilities (or any other for that matter) have the real possibility of leaving the viewer unfulfilled with a rushed ending, which seems a bit or for the course with how season 8 is going.
