It's that time of year. The first week of the MLS season is upon us and 2020 will be the league's 25th season. In the first part of ASN's season preview, ASN's Jamie Hill looks at the chaotic Eastern Conference which looks set to see some steady hands fade and others emerge.

Jonathan Lewis on in the 85th minute and gets the game winner in the 90th. Continuing to score G/A at a rate/90 comparable to the elite players in the league.

agree. But still Lewis > Medina is a universal constant.
Between the horrorshow defending from Brillant, and the late supersub winner from Lewis (why doesn't he start for Colorado these days?), there were some serious 2017 NYCFC vibes with that DCU-COL ending.
Sure. Obviously for the money, Lewis is a better value. I wonder if Lewis would play if he were still with us.. say instead of Medina. Guess we'll never know ..

one of them is the usual guy... the other one is a different guy. but they're still both pretty terrible.
$ aside, Lewis is better. But I don’t think he’d see the minutes medina does because we didn’t spend the same resources on him and are trying to throw Good money at bad. If we spent what we did for Lewis on medina, he’d be Pablo Alvarez by now.
And Villa is better than both. So?
Medina and Lewis have nothing to do with each other.
We sold Lewis and not Medina because somebody would pay for Lewis.
And to finish the thought, somebody else would pay for Lewis because his contract was in the low $100K and Medina is a DP.
If Lewis were taking up a DP spot on our team, there should still be a similar outrage as there is now for Medina taking up a DP spot.
I was agreeing that I was happy Lewis was sold, despite his potential and the return. But would rather have him on the roster over Medina if $ wasn't a factor and only talent. Wish we could sell Medina too, or at least release him so we could sign a DP we could use or profit off of instead.
