General MLS Discussion

I like the open look from the outside a lot. Inside the shell it does have a certain "under the high school bleachers" feel. But even then, I'm so negative these days on the grey East German psychiatric prison ward vibe of the interior of Yankee stadium that I still prefer this.

Exactly. NYCFC will have soulless enclosed interior spaces with zero natural light. A few years back someone posted some photos and video of the new sections of Man City's stadium, and while they were limited in having to retro-fit over an existing structure, I doubt anything prevented them from adding on a somewhat open shell. They didn't. It's not in their nature.

NYCFC wants a stadium more like Citi and less like Yankee Stadium. Source = Matt Goodman, who was a great chat at the game last weekend.

beautiful stadium... largest in the country. will ours match or exceed this 30K capacity and will we be able to fill it consistently? The "man of the match" live cut record is a great idea that integrates the music heritage of the city. very nice touch.

The video promises a "Drone Tour" but from what I can tell, all those sequences are computer simulations.

it is real. the first one, susanna collins is standing in the middle of the field. the one at the end, it flies right up to her sitting in the stands. There are some CGI shots cut in too, which can be confusing. but the lighting and texture of everything changes when it switches to real video.

I don't think it is real.
It is, because it flies right by Suzanna Collins who is standing at the center of the pitch, does a cirlce-around, and then comes back to her. Also, if it was a render they wouldn't have random imperfections within the render

I think it's a blend of drone and CGI. Different segments seem fake, others real. If so, very well blended.
Yeah, vey well done.
It looks to me like 0-12 is renders, and then 12- end of the stadium footage is not rendered, except for the big nashville logo signs which look like post-production.

If he doesn’t touch it, it goes in. Not an open goal

I think he could have had a chance to save it had he pushed it behind instead of trying to swat it out. Sadly he injured himself on this and had to come off.

Double whammy

One things for sure.. this year's results have been all over the place. Sure there are some teams struggling and some teams doing well, but it's results have not always been as expected. It's wild and I love it.

Wild! But what am I missing? Is GD not the first tie breaker? Because then the Crew would be behind us
The Crew is behind us. LionNYC LionNYC is right. Wins is the first tiebreaker. We’re ahead of the Crew either way.
i always thought that in-season they should use games played as the first tiebreaker. If teams are tired on points the one with the most remaining games should be ahead in the table.
ETA The Crew is about to win and get ahead of us pending tomorrow

For what it's worth, if we win all out games in hand we'll be ahead of Orlando (currently second in the east), so not too bad at all

RB get a stoppage time penalty (sound familiar) and win their fifth straight on the road.
