For what it's worth, ASA's playoff prediction model (based on the same seeding prediction model that correctly had Atlanta choking away the Supporters' Shield) puts NYCFC at a 70% to advance tomorrow and 15% to [make the final, I can't read]. Knock on wood and all that.

The 15% is to make it to the Finals. It is 7.4% to win. I don't know why your columns show up so much wider.

The 538 figures in order are 74%, 33%, 17% and 7%.

Has anybody here bought playoff tickets not as part of their STH account? My friend bought tickets for tomorrow and the Semifinals, and received confirmation of the purchase, but the tickets are not in his Ticketmaster account, he does not have an NYCFC account, and he has not yet gotten an email with his tickets either.

ETA: Never mind. My friend does have an NYCFC ticket account but just forgot about it.

Any word on the officials for this match?

I posted at 11:45 AM

New York City v Philadelphia Union
Yankee Stadium (7PM ET)
REF: Robert Sibiga
AR1: CJ Morgante
AR2: Jason White
4TH: Jose Carlos Rivero
VAR: Drew Fischer

He's probably the nicest of the bunch. Quite friendly those that see him often referee or as the 4th official.

My bad... thank you for the re-post.

That's exactly it for me with Ring. Sure he's skied shots over the bar before in the run of play, but that's in the run of play. I get this calm, cool, and collected feeling from him and feel quite confident that he would take a good penalty.

I know it's completely different, but don't forget that he took FKs for the Finland national team and had that beauty of a goal a bit back in the WCQ.

Ring never takes penalties. I think there were some penalty shoot-outs at Kaiserslautern and he didn't take a shot.

Not just well researched, but also well written. I liked the gem below in particular.

If City Football Group has a foundational stylistic idea—what tactics writers call a “philosophy”—it is that if you pile enough cash on the field in crisply wrapped bundles the weight will tilt the playing surface so that the ball rolls downhill into the opposing goal.
