In The History Of Companies, Has Any Company Ever Been Worse Than Comcast?

If this is about cable, Verizon and Cablevision suck also.

This is why cord-cutting is so popular.
If cable companies actually delivered what they promise, there'd be little complaint.

I never had a single issue with Comcast in the years I used them. The quality of their on demand is unmatched. When I moved to the east coast, the cancellation was super easy and fast.

For discussion purposes, I'm former IT; so I know about help desks.
How does Verizon suck?
I'll give two examples. one futbol related, one not.
  1. We are now in week 26 of the MLS season.
Since Week #1, Verizon FIOS has been unable to determine (or admit the truth about) why they have been unable to transmit the SAP English channel for Viernes De Futbol. I and other subscribers have repeatedly reported this WEEKLY yet Verizon comes up every excuse other than the truth.

Verizon fails to realize there is FCC transmission data publicly available. The NY Univision affiliate AND its Long Island translator both transmit an SAP language signal. Yet, FIOS tells its customers that Univision doesn't transmit an SAP signal. Additionally, despite flagging in its own program listings that the weekly MLS game has an SAP signal, none is transmitted. No matter which audio signal you tune in, you get Spanish.

  2. This household subscribes to the FIOS Ultimate package. Every channel including all premium movie channels are available. When installed, everything worked perfectly. However, after a few weeks, all of a sudden, the on-demand channels for Starz/Encore were unavailable. The live channels were fine.

We called FIOS and I spent an hour on the phone doing whatever the help desk rep asked me to do: disconnecting the wiring, connecting the wiring, rebooting both set-top boxes several times, etc., etc.. After an hour, the rep tells me the problem will be investigated and fixed in 24-48 hours. Additionally, we would get a call when the problem was resolved.

After 96 hours, we called again and spoke to a different rep. Five minutes later, everything was working correctly. (Obviously, or it should be, if you're getting the live channels, you should get the on-demand channels. It was a software switch.)
I want to emphasize.
I've never had a cable company that I didn't have some issue with.
So, my original posting was intended to convey that it's a crap shoot.
That's why I feel cord-cutting is so popular. Frustration on David Villa levels.

I'd love to try Google Fiber, but I bet someone had had similar problems with them.

100% this. If you subscribe to any cable.satellite provider for a few years, you will likely find that you go months or years and everything is fine, but occasionally an issue comes up that becomes infuriating because fixing it turns into a mind-numbing, existential ordeal. Outliers on both ends, maybe 5% on each side, either never have an issue or have constant problems.

Yeah, that's random as hell and a situation I would have never encountered when I had FIOS. I cut the cords because I was paying through the nose for service I pretty much never used.

Now, I have Optimum internet only, a Roku 3 and Apple TV. Much better value and just enough content for me.
