Jason Kries to Orlando

In all seriousness, I was really disappointed with Orlando's play the last 10 minutes or so. They clearly backed off the attack. Toronto were keeping all 9 guys behind the ball, and Orlando stopped moving numbers forward because they were afraid of the counter. I get it, but that is certainly no way to play if you desperately need 3 points.
Exactly, they absolutely needed a win, especially with DCU winning. They're all but eliminated now.

I know you don't want to scoreboard watch a ton, but someone on Orlando's staff needed to be aware that DCU was getting 3, and they needed to go all out to try and take 3 from Toronto.

I think they got the points Kreis wanted. It wasn't a loss for him, while Toronto earning a point sticks it to NYCFC.

Kreis calls out the team for lack of leadership. Kaka squarely contradicts him and claps back that he is wrong. Sounds so familiar. At least he's consistent.
I heard the announcers say this last night as well, but a quick google search didn't turn anything up. Is there an interview or article that shows what Kaka said?

It was in the live interview with Julie Stewart-Binks pre-game. I can't quote it verbatim, but basically she asked if he thought they had a leadership problem and he said that they didn't have a leadership problem, but rather the problem was that they were giving up too many goals.

I'm sure he has some logic about stopping the loosing streak being more important than the win for the teams mindset.

I still hold the opinion that Kries doesn't know how to win over a locker room when he's forced to step in as an outsider at a new club. His only success came within an organization where he had established respect as a player and then stepped in as a coach. He's yet to prove this theory wrong.

No doubt that was his mindset! But considering where Orlando is in the standings, a tie is nothing more than a bandage on a patient that already bled out.... a win would have been a transfusion to at least give them hope for the playoffs & 6th seed.

A coach taking over is like a Greek tragedy- the owners are ecstatic to cut ties with the previous coach, but so often that doesn't change the season's outcome, and Kreis coming in as the savior is "falling to disaster through a combination of personal failings and circumstances with which he cannot deal."
