Klinsmann Gone/Going?

It amazes me that Kreis is held is such high regard. He only "succeed" at a team he was a former player of where he had respect, a system in place that he was accustomed too, and player acquisition handled for him. Throw any one of those things out and he cant cope. He isnt adaptable, he cant handle the pressure, he cant deal with any dissent, (players or management) and he plays favoritism over merit as his primary mode of management.

He gets a gold star for having the reputation to take a collection of underperforming individuals and make them into a team that punches above its weight.

Pretty sad state if Kreis is even being considered for the MNT Manager position if Klinsmann leaves. He's had two managerial position and was fired from the second - and at the second he was tactically rigid and lost the locker room. At NYCFC he had at least three and maybe 5 or 6 strong personalities that lost respect for him - on the MNT he would have to inspire 22 guys, most that have accomplished far more than he has, not only in their foreign leagues, but also on the MNT; I'm not sure the midfielders and strikers are going to accept direction from him on how to play when Kreis couldn't cut it at that level. I just don't buy it - there's no way they could be looking at him as a legitimate hire.

Interestingly, the one MLS manager that really has been tossed around a lot as a potential hire and *wasn't* mentioned is Peter Vermes. With the consistency he's built at SKC, and not simply based on last night's beat down he delivered to FC, he's shown that he can successfully manage without big drop offs.

Vermes definitely could inspire the players. He was a bull on the sidelines last night.

I love the Roberto Martinez idea. Or Guus Hiddink.

My first choice would be Bradley, but that's unlikely.

I doubt Bradley will come back (yet). He's so close to achieving a bonfide 1st division gig in a big euro league that he won't bail on it for another stint.... However, once he gets his club promoted and manages a few years at that level, I could see him coming home for a WC cycle at the MNT helm - the combination of the two will make it easier to be hired directly back to a 1Div team again.

The rumors that Klinsman is leaving may be just rumors to fill up soccer news. Until WC Qualifiers begin things in the USMT are pretty quiet. Would Klinsman be the type to leave the team floundering when it most need its manager to lead them to win a berth to WC 2018? I believe he is a man of honor and there are many reasons he will consider before leaving at this crucial moment. He loves living in the US, his wife is American and hence his children are American and leaving at this moment would be comparable to treason. If his plans are to leave most likely it will be after ensuring, the USA has qualified.
