At this point, if he goes, I would prefer cash. Don't trade him for Jack McInerney or someone like that. No way he would return Adi. Just get cash and go out and get someone.

How likely is it that we get any cash from a mix deal? With his salary, if I were any MLS FO I wouldn't take him unless its a free transfer. I think Reyna gets that, and if we're moving him I think we're just looking to be free of his salary. IMO the only way we get cash for Mix (in addition to offloading his salary) is by going outside of MLS.
My money is still on Columbus
What does Portland potentially have to trade?

Having a childhood friend on the team, Kamara, would be a huge plus when joining a new club - even if only as bonus points.

I also did some quick searching of the deep internets, and while I didn't find anything new, I found this from 2014 (below). I guess a lot of you might already know this, but I didn't, and it sheds some light on why Mix is such a rich bastard. Looks like daddy Mix demanded more

I think you're right. If Mix goes, let's just go shopping. Although, could there be a deal here for Gleeson?
To clarify, since everyone except 413 and I thinks Mix is taking up some crazy amount of cap-space, that would be the cash that at least I am referring to here.
Portland midfield sounds stout on paper with Charra, Nagbe, Valeri & Mix. But I don't know how you fit them all on the field, unless you let Valeri move further up and play a 4-2-3-1 with Mix & Charra as the 2, Valeri, Nagbe & Melano behind Adi. This is off the cuff, so I'm just throwing it out there. I refuse to actually research PTFC in order to help them best deploy my beloved Mix.

I thought the same thing. Do you trade Mix for Kewasey or Gleeson? I don't know the salary cap restraints at Portland - and frankly, I don't care enough to do the research. Could they absorb his contract by just offloading a Kewasey or Gleeson?
Then I thought - wait, we have some money to spend. I would rather see us go get an international keeper if we can turn Mix into an international spot (or if the rumored Mendoza offloading actually happens). Just my two cents - but I immediately thought of their GK situation as well.
