Mix is still here. Only things I can think are that he is content banking $750,000 to be a practice squad player (I sure would be). Or maybe the league doesn't want to sell him and has him earmarked for one of the expansion clubs.

If he went to an expansion team, they'd use the DP on him to make it more cap friendly, or he'd have to restructure his contract. But if that's the case and he wouldn't play here, why not move him there now? We signed a number of players before last season started. They could so the same and Mix could train in Minnesota or Atlanta without the drama and as a minor celebrity. And we could have some cap room to maneuver with this season. If I had to guess, Mix is plain cut by us in the off-season, we use him as our 1 time a year cut a player with no cap ramifications. And then Mix decides to sign elsewhere in MLS or back in Europe.

All makes good sense, and if true then Mix wants back to Europe, not MLS.

Mix was 4 rows down from me and over in Section 125. He was great with everyone that came to meet him. Most left him alone. Lots of kids took pictures. He took time with all of them. He left after Villa's goal

Hmm. Maybe Vieira will play Mix is he takes less money so we can sign a better player?
