He's on max salary and is eating every bit of gam from our first season and all of it from our second. Excluding Poku's transfer. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if we had to make that sale for reasons of contract GAM requirements.
Based on that article and the absolute ramming of fat frank down everyone's throats by the club, (another ask frank video?) it is pretty easy to infer what has happened. Its not talent, its not work ethic that mix has been excommunicated.
The club thinks frank is a great marketing ploy and told him to park his ass in front of goal so england will take notice in MLS. Our best player by far, David Villa, is reduced to sheparding the ball forward through midfield? who cares! Other teams run through our 442 midfield with one midfielder (iraola) playing defense? Who fuckign cares! We went from dominating MLS teams with possession, now we get 3 shots per game and 45% of the ball? Who cares!

If it was all about marketing, Mix surely would be playing a lot more, or at least would not have been cast away, as he is one of the most marketable players we have.

Mix's placard was not removed from Yankee Stadium because Lampard is marketable in England. If the team were making decisions solely based upon marketing, Mix would not have been relegated to a practice team player, because he clearly has tangible marketing value here and elsewhere. And Lampard has been great, warts and all. Which leaves Mix's relegation still a mystery.
